James Turner (Japanese: ジェイムス・ターナー) is a British graphic designer, who currently works at Game Freak. In 2010, he became the first Westerner to officially design Pokémon.
Turner designed seven Pokémon for Pokémon Black and White, two of the Pokémon for Pokémon X and Y, two of the Pokémon for Pokémon Sun and Moon, and two of the Pokémon for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. He also directed the 2012 Nintendo 3DS eShop title HarmoKnight and the 2015 video game published by Sega, Tembo the Badass Elephant. He is the Art Director for Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Before joining Game Freak, James Turner worked for eight years at Genius Sonority and was credited under the name Jamie Turner (Japanese: ジェイミー・ターナー).
