Go's Scyther (Japanese: ゴウストライク Go's Strike) is Go's thirteenth known Pokémon.
History
Scyther first appeared in SS006, where it was the last Bug-type Pokémon native to the Kanto region that Go needed to catch. It easily repelled Go's Poké Ball and sent him and Scorbunny flying. Later, Go battled the Mantis Pokémon briefly with his Scorbunny before capturing it. After its capture, it was seen with all his other Pokémon before Professor Sakuragi suggested leaving it at his Institute.
In SS007, Go used Scyther in his first Pokémon battle during the Battle Frontier Flute Cup. It was first used to battle Houji's Mightyena, where it used Swords Dance before quickly failing to Mightyena's Fire Fang.
Personality and characteristics
Scyther is a fast and powerful Pokémon, giving Go the most trouble to capture out of all of the Kanto Bug types. It is shown to be enthusiastic about battling and staying active. In SS007, it was shown doing following Mimey's kung-fu excercises along with its Trainer, Scorbunny, the Professor, and Koharu. It was later shown shadow boxing, attempting to get Go's attention to bring it to the Battle Frontier Flute Cup.
Despite its strength and confidence, however, Go and Scyther are not as in sync with each other as his partner, Scorbunny, and Go's cautious strategy in the first round of the Flute Cup lead to Scyther's quick defeat. Scyther didn't appear too upset by the loss, returning from the Pokémon Center ready for another battle, and like Scorbunny, seemed more concerned with how hard Go was taking his first defeat.
