• Even though the player can chose the Avatar's uniform number official artwork depicts their uniform number as "227", which can be read in Japanese as goroawase for 無事な bujina, meaning "safely". It also appears to be a reference to February 27, the release date of the first Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Green.
• Pre-release media referred to Victor as both "Victor" and "Sword" (Japanese: ソード Sword, Korean: 소드 Sword).
