A job in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series is a mission that can be undertaken by teams for various rewards.
Jobs can be obtained by reading the Job Bulletin Board and by being delivered Wonder Mail. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, there can be a maximum of eight on the board outside the Pelipper Post Office and four in the mailbox outside the Team Base and the player can have a maximum of eight in their job list. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, the player's job list increases in size as the rank does. In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, the player can accept jobs from Wigglytuff's Guild's Job Bulletin Board and Outlaw Notice Board, which may have up to eight available missions each; as well as from the customers at Spinda's Café in the latter's case. The player can have a maximum of eight jobs in their job list at a time.
There are various limits as to what jobs can be chosen:
- Only one job per Mystery Dungeon floor can be taken at a time.
- In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, only one job can be selected rather than multiple jobs in the same dungeon as in other games.
- In Red and Blue Rescue Team, if the dungeon has a rest stop, the team will exit it at the rest stop instead of continuing to the next area. Consequently, missions that are created in Wonder Mail Generators that take place in the next area cannot be taken.
