Saturn in the anime

Saturn made his first appearance at the ending of A Secret Sphere of Influence!, though it was a brief appearance at the end of the episode. He, along with the other Team Galactic Grunts, commented that Jessie, James and Meowth did a lousy job at stealing the Adament Orb for them, and framing Nando for the crime.

Saturn later reappeared in DP060, along with his Bronzor. He planned on obtaining a cube that allowed them to control the Unown of the Solaceon Ruins.

Saturn appeared again in DP069, meeting Ash and his friends for the first time. His Japanese voice actress is 岡村明美 Akemi Okamura.

In the games

Saturn is first seen leading the efforts of Team Galactic at Lake Valor near Pastoria City. He battles the player inside Azelf's cave and reveals that Mars is at Lake Verity.

He seems to be the loose cannon among the Commanders, as he engages the player within Team Galactic HQ in Veilstone City, regardless of Cyrus's orders to let him or her leave safely.

After the events at the Spear Pillar (which Saturn was not present for), he can be found in the Galactic Veilstone Building, contemplating what direction to take Team Galactic in after Cyrus has disappeared; he was apparently never aware of Cyrus's grander plot. However, he learned that "extremism is never the solution".

Saturn's role in Team Galactic is to raise funds for their projects and he has the permission of Cyrus to use any means he feels necessary. Saturn decided to kidnap Berlitz for a ransom, as she is the daughter of the wealthiest family in Sinnoh, but his attack at the Lost Tower was thwarted by her real bodyguards. Furious, Saturn told his grunts to block Route 210 and force her to visit Veilstone City so that he can have his revenge.

• There are many ongoing arguments in the fandom over Saturn's Toxicroak in the anime. While some people believe it is a Template:Altcolor species, other people claim that merchandise depicting the alternate-color Toxicroak is evidence that the anime considers the alternate-color Toxicroak to be the normal coloration.
• Saturn is the only Galactic Commander whose Spanish name wasn't changed to correspond to a different planet; Jupiter's and Mars's names were changed to correspond to planets with names of Roman goddesses (Ceres and Venus, respectively).
• It should be noted that Saturn's hair is styled like a Purugly, the Pokémon owned by Mars. This may indicate that Saturn was originally slated to own a Purugly, or it is just a coincidence.
