Slash (Japanese: きりさく Slash) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Slash deals damage and has an increased critical hit ratio.
Slash can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 3 bonus appeal points if Scratch or Swords Dance was used in the previous turn.

In Pokémon UNITE, Slash is Absol and Zeraora's second move.
Absol starts with the move. The user quickly slashes in front of them, damaging any Pokémon in the slash. At level 7 it's replaced by either Psycho Cut or Sucker Punch.
Zeraora starts with the move. The user charges toward an enemy and attacks them with multiple swipes, ending with an interrupt that knocks the enemy into the air. At level 8 it's replaced by either Discharge or Wild Charge.

- With a total of seven, Slash is learned by more Pokémon upon evolving than any other move.
- Due to a bug in generations III and IV, Shedinja is able to know Slash by leveling up if Nincada is allowed to evolve only at level 31, as Ninjask learns this move at this level.
