The National Park (Japanese: しぜんこうえん Nature Park) is a location in Johto. It is found to the north of Goldenrod City, between Route 35 and Route 36. The Bug-Catching Contest takes place there every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Description
The park is a place full of trainers and their pokémon. Most of the people talk about printing pictures off from the Pokédex, a reference to the Game Boy Printer that was released two years before the games.
By stepping into the grass in the main area of the park, the trainers will challenge you to a battle. If, however, you stay out of the grass, they will not notice you. They will also not battle during a Bug-Catching Contest.
The National Park contains the first long grass encountered in the games. When it is Cut, it changes into short grass before disappearing.
The main area of the park resembles a Poké Ball.
Items
