→Name origin: Seems likely, based on the DLC's codename being a citrus (Sudachi), as well as Ogerpon's name containing the same characters as ponkan (ポンカン) and dekopon (デコポン). Plus Ogerpon's torso has what appears to be the fruit and flower of an orange tree.
Ogerpon may be derived from ''{{wp|ogre}}'' and {{j|~ぽん}} ''-pon'', a cutesy suffix applied to names as a form of endearment.

Ogerpon is a small, green humanoid Pokémon. It has a green, grassy torso, and long black legs with two toes on each foot. A green, leafy cloak covers its arms. It is seen wearing a large leaf mask with a creepy grin and Terastal marks on the lower leaves, forehead, and eyes. Under its mask, Ogerpon has yellow eyes and a thorny vine around its head with the two upper thorns resembling horns.
The mask it wears is described as being fearsome[1]. It resides in the land of Kitakami, and is referred as the evil ogre that once attacked Kitakami until it was stopped by the Loyal Three: Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti.
