Flavor text Generation V Lowers stats when HP becomes half or less. Generation VI Lowers stats when HP becomes half or less. Generation VII Halves the Pokémon's Attack and Sp. Atk stats when its HP becomes half or less. Generation VIII Halves the Pokémon's Attack and Sp. Atk stats when its HP becomes half or less. Generation IX Halves the Pokémon's Attack and Sp. Atk stats when its HP drops to half or less.

Defeatist (Japanese: よわき Timid) is an Ability introduced in Generation V. It is the signature Ability of Archen and Archeops.

Effect

In battle

Defeatist halves the user's Attack and Special Attack stats when their HP is equal to or less than half of its maximum.

Outside of battle

Defeatist has no effect outside of battle.
