The Azure Flute (Japanese: てんかいのふえ Heaven and Sea Flute) is an event item received through a Nintendo Event needed to find Arceus in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. When the top of Mt. Coronet is reached the player may chose to use the Azure Flute,this will cause a staircase to appear that the player can walk up to reach the Hall of Origin. It is said to play a tune that is beyond this world.
However this item has never neen distributed anywhere in the world even in Japan and as such is only available by use of cheating and/or hacking.
Trivia
- When the Azure Flute is used at Spear Pillar, it plays the first few notes of the game's intro cutscene.
- The Surf cheat could effectively render the Azure Flute useless as it can be utilised to reach the Hall of Origin, however without using the Azure Flute the staircase will not be there, providing no exit.
