As far as Armaldo's name origin, I highly doubt it's based off of "armadillo." You know, considering it's not even remotely an armadillo. Its Japanese name is a corruption of "armored," and NOA never changed the name, so... wouldn't "a ccorruption of the word 'armored'" suffice?
