Trivia
Origin
Ludicolo is probably based on a bongo drummer.
Name origin
Ludicolo's name may be a combination of ridiculous, ludicrous, and loco, the Spanish word for crazy. Its Japanese name may be a combination of ルンルン runrun, happy or bouncy, and pappa, which may be the sound of a rapid drumbeat. It could also be a combination of rumba and kappa. Its German name, Kappalores, is a combination of the words kappa and kokolores. Kokolores is a slang word meaning fooling around or nonsense.
