Differences between the anime and the manga
- The manga does not include the Hale family's maid, David, Schuyler, Lisa, Team Rocket, Liza, Nurse Joy, and Officer Jenny.
- Molly Hale remains the same age and doesn't transform into an older version of herself to take on Misty and Brock in the manga.
- Ash's Cyndaquil uses Flame Wheel, a move that it would not learn until An Old Family Blend! almost a decade later, and Ash's Totodile uses Hydro Pump, a move it has never been seen using in the anime.
- Ash's Charizard does not return from the Charicific Valley to help Ash against Entei.
