Team Rocket Attacks (Japanese: 侵略のロケット団 The Invading Team Rocket) was a villain event in Pokémon Masters EX. It tied into the second part of the Johto chapter of the Villain Arc, featuring battles against Giovanni and the Team Rocket executives. It was one of the Johto villain events, the other being Rocket Execs Assemble.
During this event, players could earn vouchers and Ho-Oh Crystals from battles against Ariana that could be redeemed in the shop for rewards, including a power boost for Silver & Ho-Oh that would give them additional tiles on their sync grid. Obtaining 2,000 vouchers would reward players with a medal. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day.
This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.
All sync pairs with the Johto and Kanto theme skills received a bonus to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def stats when used for this event, with the amount of the bonus varying between areas.
First run
The event first ran from May 30 to June 16, 2022. The "Sygna Suit Ethan Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Ethan & Lugia from the beginning of the event to July 14, 2022. The "Sygna Suit Lyra Master Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Lyra & Celebi from June 1 to July 14, 2022. Additionally, the music and artwork on the title screen were different than usual. For the duration of the event, a splash screen depicting Sygna Suit Ethan & Lugia, Sygna Suit Lyra & Celebi, and Sygna Suit Kris & Suicune appeared upon starting up the game. Starting from May 19, 2022, and lasting for the duration of the event, the title screen art depicted Sygna Suit Giovanni & Nidoking alongside Archer, Ariana, Petrel, and Proton, and the background music wasDecisive Battle!
