PenguinShipping is the belief of a romantic relationship between Dawn and Kenny. Kenny and Dawn are childhood friends and are also rivals. This shipping is called PenguinShipping due to the fact that both of them have members of the Piplup evolution family.

Even thought there are not many hints (as Kenny only appeared in 4 episodes), it has been shown that he and Dawn are very close to each other. Kenny even calls Dawn Dee-Dee (Japanese: ピカリ Pikari).

Another incident which can be considered as a hint is in Getting the Pre-Contest Titters. When Kenny sees Dawn in her contest dress he is momentarily speechless. She starts flirting with Kenny and asks him if he thinks she's pretty to which he blushes and hastily tries to change the subject.

In Settling a Not-So-Old Score, Kenny seemed jealous of Ash and Dawn being together. He promises to Dawn after Jessie's appeal that he would make "that Seviper lady look bad."

In Journey to the Unknown when Dawn was being lifted into the ruins due to the confused Unown, Kenny worriedly called out her name. Again, when Dawn was falling, Kenny once again called out her name worriedly. He is the only one who did this on both occasions. Towards the end of the episode, he wanted to make sure that Dawn didn't find out how scared he was in the ruins, not wanting her to make fun of him.
