Control Gauntlets (Japanese: あやつりのコテ Control Gauntlet) are used by the Pokémon Pinchers to capture Pokémon. They were introduced in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs. They replace the Super Stylers used in the first game and the Gigaremo and Miniremo units used in Shadows of Almia as a tool for the antagonists.
They take time to capture a Pokémon, so it is possible for the connection to be cut off before the process is complete, as shown when two Pinchers are cut off from pinching Ukulele Pichu in the game. If they are operated without interruption, they capture Pokémon and store them without the use of a Poké Ball. They are used to communicate feelings of hatred to Pokémon, as opposed to the Capture Styler, which is used to communicate friendship.
Multiple Control Gauntlets are often used when a Pokémon is very powerful, such as a Legendary Pokémon. They can also be used to cast Ranger Signs on old monuments.
They share similarities with the Golden Armor used by the temple guardians in the past.
