Route 224 is a small land expansion from the Pokémon League stretching to the east. It is described as a miniature of the Sinnoh region, although it isn't shaped at all like Sinnoh.
At its end is a white rock which Professor Oak says, if the player has Oak's Letter, has a counterpart in the Kanto region. This unlocks the special event in which players can capture Shaymin.
The route is unique as it is one of only two routes in the pokémon world that is normally a dead end (the other being Route 25). However, with Oak's Letter, the route can be extended onto the Seabreak Path.

Trivia
This route has one of two movie cameos in the game. The aforementioned easter egg is Ace Trainer Rebecca, a trainer who analyzes battles using her laptop. She challenges the player with her Metagross. However, this cameo was not recognized by translators, as English versions call her Jamie (in Japanese version her name is ヒトミ Hitomi, like in the movie).
