A Pokémon storage system allows Pokémon to be stored and transmitted as computer data. Also this systems help trainers by storing many Pokemon after the Party six Pokemon. The first such system was originally developed by Bill. There have been at least five versions of the storage system seen in various games:
- Bill's storage system (Generation I and II) is a storage system used in both regions of Kanto and Johto. In Generation I, Bill's system can store 10 Pokemons per box, changing the box and putting other Pokemon increases the Pokemon amount of the storage system. Based on the design of the Generation I versions, The Generation II was inproved by changing the names of the box to help trainers to find their wanted Pokemon on the boxes. Bill flies his PC on the sea cottage near Cerulean city. His relatives that live in Kanto live in Fuschia City and his relatives in Johto lives in Goldenrod city.
- Bridgette's storage system (as seen in Pokémon Box): based on Lanette's storage system, but with greatly expanded capacity and an improved interface; it can hold up to 1500 Pokémon, and allows the user to move many Pokémon at once.
- Lanette's storage system (upgraded by Bill) (as seen in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald): adds the ability to manage held items directly from the PC and can move mass amounts of Pokémon at once like Bridgette's system.
- Bebe's Storage System (seen in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl). The same as Lanette's system, but the number of boxes has been increased from 14 to 18, for a maximum capacity of 540. It was created with help from Bill. It is possibly an upgraded version of Bill's modification of Lanette's system.

Begining with the interface of Generation III, the background of each box can be decorated with one of sixteen different default wallpapers. After going out of the gym, Bill will talk to the player and ask it of it would join with him, if yes, A Seagallop ferry will come and bring you to one island, if no, Bill will wait on the Cinnabar Island's Pokemon center. Upon traveling with Bill, Bill will give you a TRI - PASS. Upon traveling on Two and Three islands, Bill and Celio goes under a construction on linking Bill's PC to the whole Sevii islands. Upon defeating the Pokemon league, you can access to the next islands and Celio will give an errand to find a sapphire and a ruby.
