Poison Sting is a Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I that deals very little damage.
Effect
Generation I
Poison Sting does damage and has a 19.9% chance of poisoning the opponent.
Poison Sting can't poison an opponent that has a Substitute, already has a major status ailment, or is a Poison-type.
Generation II and on
Same as Generation I with a 20% chance of causing poison to all Pokémon except Poison-types and Template:Type2s.

Ekans and Arbok. It opens its mouth and white or purple darts are shot out at the opponent.
- Used by Jessie's Ekans and Arbok from Pokémon Emergency! to AG005.
Croagunk. Same as above.

Drapion. Same as above.
- Used by the J's Drapion in Mutiny in the Bounty!.
Weedle and Beedrill. It stabs the foe with it's body stinger.

Dustox. Purple needles shoots out of its mouth.
