Hippopotas (Japanese: ヒポポタス Hipopotas) is a recurring Pokémon character in the anime. He is voiced by Chie Satō in both English and Japanese.
He first appeared in Mass Hip-Po-Sis. Ash and his friends rescued this Pokémon in that episode. He then reappeared in Sleight of Sand! with his father Hippowdon. This Hippopotas, like a few other Pokémon, seemed to like to be carried on top of Ash's head.
