Morning Sun (Japanese: あさのひざし Morning Sunlight) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation II.
Effect
Generation II
Morning Sun restores the user's current HP based on the weather conditions and time of day. Normal conditions will restore ½ of the total HP.
Generation III
Morning Sun restores the user's current HP based on the weather conditions in the battle. Sunny conditions restore full HP, normal conditions restore ½ HP, and other conditions restore ¼ HP.
Generation IV
Morning Sun restores the user's current HP based on the weather conditions in the battle. Sunny conditions restore ⅔ HP, normal conditions restore ½ HP, and other conditions restore ¼ HP.

The Pokémon issues rays of light to different directions and sparks to restore HP. Sometimes its body glows.

Beautifly. The light is yellow. With the sufficient experience its entire body can glow.
- Used by Janet's Beautifly in All Things Bright and Beautifly!' in the final battle of the Rustboro City contest against her friend Chaz. Debut.
- Used by May's Beautifly from Cruisin' for a Losin' in the presentation round of a couple of Pokémon Contests, the first time used was in the Rubello Town Contest.

Trivia
- Morning Sun was Espeon's signature move in Generation II. From Generation III onwards, only Espeon and Beautifly can learn Morning Sun by level up, and coincidentally, the two are the only Pokémon in Sakura's team in the anime.
