Behavior
Whismur are scared very easily, and often use their shrill cries to try and scare off other wild Pokémon. And once it screams, its cries scare it into crying itself to sleep.
A Whismur owned by Alanna first appeared in A Pokéblock Party!. When Jigglypuff showed up to Sing for everyone, Whismur was the only one who stayed awake.
Normally, Whismur's voice is very quiet - it is barely audible even if one is paying close attention. However, if this Pokémon senses danger, it starts crying at an earsplitting volume.
Whismur is very timid. If it starts to Template:M2, it becomes startled by its own crying and cries even harder. When it finally stops crying, the Pokémon goes to sleep, all tired out.
Its cries equal a jet plane in volume. It inhales through its ear canals. Because of this system, it can cry continually without having to catch its breath.
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, Whismur can be found in The Nightmare and Zero Isle South. However, as Pokémon can not be recruited in those dungeons, it is impossible to add Whismur to the team under normal circumstances. Whismur may still ask to join after completing a mission for it, such as in the one from the following Wonder Mail code:
KMFJ =4&T =686
5N2W #J%8 +P@5
Objective: Rescue Whismur on floor 1 of Beach Cave.
