Malice in Wonderland! (Japanese: ムウマージ！悪夢からの脱出!! Mumage! Escape from a Nightmare!!) is the 43rd episode of the Diamond & Pearl series, and the 509th episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on August 16, 2007 and in the United States on December 29, 2007.

Ash and friends get lost and decide to take shelter from the rain under an old gate. But to their confusion, it doesn't seem to rain at all beyond the gate. Curious, they go past it, but then one strange occurrence after another happens...

• This episode holds the record for the most times Team Rocket blasted off. It was shown four times onscreen in quick succession, though they continued to blast off multiple times off-screen.
• The gate may be based on a similar gate in Spirited Away.
• The Poison Jab Brock's Croagunk uses on the illusion of Rayquaza resembles one of Monkey D. Luffy's signature moves, Gomu Gomu no Rifle.
• The dub title is a pun of the book Alice in Wonderland.
• James finds a cap of a Kanto-Cola bottle, a play off of Coca-Cola.

Errors

• After receiving the case of badges from Professor Oak in his fantasy, Ash says he has all the badges. However, they are not all there -- the Mine Badge of Sinnoh is missing, as well as the extra badges seen in Bad to the Bone.
• In the Latin American dub, after Feebas evolves into Milotic, Dawn is wrongly named as May.
