Trivia
- This is the last episode ever written by the anime's original chief writer, Takeshi Shudō.
- The English title of this episode is a pun of the saying Lighten up.
Errors
- Brock says that his hometown is "Flint City", while he is actually from Pewter City. Flint is his father.
- Madeleine mentions that "Slowpoke is just a name that humans invented". This may be true in the games but is doubtful in the anime, where most Pokémon can say their names even right after being born, what implies that Pokémon in the anime were supposed to be named after their "natural" cries.
Dub edits
- During the meditiation scene, Brock's fantasy of Madeleine was cut from the English dub.
- The sound effects of the paddle hits during the meditation scene are much louder in the original Japanese version.
In other languages
- French: Eveillez-vous
- Italian: L'illuminazione
- Latin American Spanish: ¡Ilumínate!
- Spanish: Iluminados
