Trivia
- Cacturne and its pre-evolution, Cacnea, are two of the few Pokémon which aren't Steel, Ground or Template:Type2 which are unharmed by sandstorms. This is because of their ability, Sand Veil. The other Pokémon who share this trait are Cleffa line with Magic Guard, Psyduck line with Cloud Nine and Rayquaza with Air Lock. Unlike the others, Cacnea and Cacturne do take damage from Hail.
Origin
Cacturne is based on a cactus with scarecrow-like features.
Name origin
Cacturne's name is a combination of cactus and nocturnal. Its Japanese name is also a combination of these words, only in a different order.
