Drowzee (Japanese: スリープ Sleep) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves into Hypno starting at level 26.
Biology
Physiology
Drowzee is a bipedal Pokémon that resembles a tapir. Its eyes are tired looking and it has a trunk above its mouth. Its arms are quite short in length and its hand each have three fingers. The upper half of a Drowzee's body is yellow and the lower half is brown, the two of which are separated by a wavy line. It has a round belly and its legs are quite stubby. Its feet are brown, except for its two toes, which are the same yellow color as the upper half of the body, and the bottom, which has a small, round, pink colored pad in the middle of it.

None.
Special abilities
Its special abilities allow it to put people to sleep and then sense the dreams they are having, so they know what kind of dream they would be eating. Drowzee is also known to inexplicably conjure up Poison Gas.
Behavior
Due to being a bizarre species of Pokémon, their behavior is very hard to determine.
Habitat
Wild Drowzee live in very tall grass, by muddy rivers, in savannahs, and occasionally in ancient temples and tombs.
Diet

It feeds on dreams.
In the anime
Drowzee first appeared alongside its evolved form in Hypno's Naptime. Both of the Hypnosis Pokémon were used to help the members of the Pokémon Lover's Club get sleep. Hypno was causing children to act like Pokémon and draining the energy off of the Pokémon in the local Pokémon Center. Drowzee was used to fix the mess Hypno created.
Drowzee made another appearance in Pikachu Re-Volts. Butch and Cassidy used a Drowzee to brainwash Pokémon into turning against their Trainers and obeying Butch and Cassidy.
Drowzee was living in abandoned mining town with several other Psychic Pokémon in Fear Factor Phony. The Psychic Pokémon had parties in order to help them forget their sadness due to fact that the miners had left the town long ago. However, the constant partying was disturbing the Ghost Pokémon that lived in the abandoned mine.
A Drowzee also appeared under the ownership of a Scientist in Pokémon Ranger and the Kidnapped Riolu! Part One.
A Drowzee appeared in Camping It Up!.
Another one appeared in DP123.

Trivia
- Drowzee is depicted has having three fingered hands in all of its game sprites except in its Red and Blue sprite where it is shown as having five.
- Although Drowzee could learn Snore by move tutor in Pokémon Emerald, it was unable able to use it due to its sole ability in Generation III, Insomnia. Oddly, in Pokémon Platinum, it cannot be tutored Snore despite gaining a second ability in Generation IV that would not prevent the use of Snore.
Origin
Drowzee is based on the Japanese myth of the baku, creatures who eat bad dreams of sleeping people. Originally, they were composite animals, but later became tapirs — pig-like animals with small trunks from South America and Southern Asia.
Name origin
Drowzee's name is a misspelling of the word drowsy, which means dull with sleepiness. The zee could also be a reference to the saying "catching some Zs", meaning to sleep. Its Japanese name simply refers to sleep.

- German: Traumato - From Traum (dream) and traumatisch (traumatic).
- French: Soporifik - From soporifique (narcotic). The spelling was likely changed intentionally to stay within 10 characters.
