| Ah yes, Pokémon. When Pokémon first hit US shelves, I was only two years old and didn't play video games. In early 2000, I owned a [[Nintendo 64]] and a [[Game Boy]], and soon started {{tt|playing video games.|Yes. I started playing video games when I was only three or four years old.}} I saw a copy of {{game|Yellow}} on the shelf at some store I don't remember. I was already into the anime, so I got the game. That was the day my life would change. I first got into the games in mid 2000. (I didn't go to school, so I didn't even know the games existed until then.)

| Of course, I also got Red, Blue, Gold, and Silver. To be honest with you, I kind of sucked at the games back then, so my interest in the games deteriorated by late 2002, when Gen II was almost over. I had stopped liking the anime by mid-Johto for some reason. Probably because everyone else was.

| In 2003, I made a mistake that I would end up regretting for a long time-I sold my Pokémon games to Game-X-Change, a local game trading store. I thought I was done with Pokémon then. (Actually, R/B/Y were traded in because I sucked at those games. Gold's save didn't work, so I threw it in the trash. Silver was lost.)

| Then in late 2004, I saw Firered and Leafgreen in another store I can't remember (probably the same one in which I found out about the games in the first place. Maybe it was Toys R Us?) I didn't really pick up on the idea, but when I heard they were remakes for Red and Blue, I thought about getting them. My final desicion was made to buy the games when my friend told me it was just like playing Red and Blue.

| That's when I started getting good at the games. I started watching the anime again (but never got back into the TCG). I got internet access in 2005, so I found out about EVs. I started a new file on FRLG and made sure I knew what I was doing. In the same year, I discovered Bulbagarden. I have been reading here for four years, but didn't become a part of the community until April 2009. I also got Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

| Then came Gen IV. I of course IMMEDIATELY got Diamond and Pearl. Those games turned my 9-year-old brother on to Pokémon. (He had liked the anime a long time before he started liking the games) So I gave him Diamond, Sapphire, and Leafgreen.
