(Japanese: ポケリンガ!天空大決戦!! PokéRinger! Big Decisive Sky Battle!!) is the 118th episode of the Diamond & Pearl series, and the 584th episode of the Pokémon anime. It first aired in Japan on March 12, 2009.
Synopsis
Template:Incomplete synopsis Ash, Dawn, and Brock arrive at Wind Town where they learn of a PokéRinger competition. Ash decides to enter it with his Staravia. He later finds out that Paul is also entering the competition with his Honchkrow. James also decides to enter borrowing Jessie's Yanmega. Eventually, Ash and Paul face off in the finals where the two Trainer's Template:Type2 Pokémon battle it out. Paul's Honchkrow gets the upper hand until Ash's Staravia evolves into Staraptor and learns Close Combat. Ash defeats Paul for the first time and wins the PokéRinger competition.
