If Ash and co. met Lucian...
If Ash and co. met Lucian, it was likely they'll meet Cynthia later in the anime. And I was right, because Cynthia is scheduled to make her first anime appearance in DP040!

based on gender differences, what gender is her garchomp? --Deuxhero 02:18, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Quotes
In the quotes section, it says:
Before battle:
"One look at you tells me many things about you. Together, you and your Pokémon overcame all the challenges you faced, however difficult. It means that you've triumphed over any personal weaknesses, too. The power you learned... I can feel it emanating from you. That's enough talking. Let's get on with why you're here. I, Cynthia, accept your challenge as the Pokémon League Champion! There won't be any letup from me!"
OR
"Have you been keeping well? Thank you for Mt. Coronet. I'm truly grateful. Together, you and your Pokémon overcame all the challenges you faced, however difficult. It means that you've triumphed over any personal weaknesses, too. The power you learned... I can feel it emanating from you. But that's enough talk. Let's get on with why you're here. As the Pokémon League Champion, I accept your challenge!"
What do they mean, "OR"? Doesn't she always say the same thing? --Shiny NoctowlTalk | ContribsFile:Ani164MS.gif 21:57, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
I think that she says the Mt.Coronet thing only when the player didn't beat the Elite Four yet.She doesn't say that to me! Uxie 20:34, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Uxie Legend

elite four
what do the elite four and the league champ actually do in the anime?Samrulz123File:Ani151MS.gif 04:23, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
I always figured that in order to challenge the elite four you had to win the league tournament. We may never know TheAlmightyChris 11:29, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Question
Cynthia also looks like the character(dont know her name) who trasform's in this video:

lucario
Does anybody else think those things in her hair look like the thing on lucario's head.I think this could mean that lucario is her main pokémon in the games (and possibly anime but not sure) User:Darkmaster0
- I always thought the things in her hair resembled a Garchomp....--Theryguy512 11:13, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- It does look more like Lucario's hair-type-thing, but her Garchomp is her strongest pokémon and they ,usually, are the trainer's signature pokémon. Phocks.
Chi
Chi and Fei are identical twins and Chi is the main chatterer, so way dos she look like Fei and not Chi? Cerberus 12:53, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

- Probably another "character similarity" thing. God, I'm sick of them. --Maxim 14:44, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Sorry about the mix up in the name. Thay still look the same and I don't get it? Cerberus 00:21, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Is the statement even necessary? The accompanying link doesn't even have a picture and I've never even heard of the character. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 00:49, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm really sick of those "similarities". We've got too many of them and most of them don't even look similar. I say, DELETE ALL "SIMILARITY" NOTES! --Maxim 07:14, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. It's like "Oooh! One anime character looks like another! We should put that in!!" It's not all that notable. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 13:56, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
I think this one is notable if any of them are. The have the same eyes, the same face. Clair even has hair things that look like Chi's ear's. If you ask me this one is intentional Cerberus 14:41, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
- I assume we're referring to Chobits here. Anyway, I did think Cynthia looked a bit like a Persicom on first impression, and her very long hair and black clothes are reminiscent of Freya, but I wouldn't say this is particularly relevant to Bulbapedia. Punkrockrevel 16:58, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Dream Rayquaza (Please don't ignore this)
If we include her Rayquaza, shouldn't we include the Piplup, Chimchar, and Turtwig from Dawn's DP001 dream? If you agree with me, please make the table, cuz remember, I don't know how!--KukiTalk 20:20, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- That was more of Dawn daydreaming that she had those Pokémon. Plus, it wasn't appearant to the characters at first that they were dreaming when Cynthia had a Rayquaza. I don't know, maybe Rayquaza shouldn't count... ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 20:26, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
But it was still a dream Pokémon, just saying--KukiTalk 21:22, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
No, he woke up to the Gengar/Nidorino battle, remember?--KukiTalk 23:19, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- No he didn't... He was watching that on T.V. the night before he left on his journey. --☆ケンジガール 23:22, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
But the Kanto starters in the dream manifested themselves into reality. And what about May commanding Mudkip in AG001?--KukiTalk 23:28, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah but that's not what I was talking about. You said he woke up to the battle of Nidorino and Gengar, which he didn't.
- Back to the subject about dream Pokémon, just because Ash got all the starters he dreamed about doesn't mean that everyone gonna get the Pokémon they've dreamed about. These stupid dream Pokémon shouldn't even be mentioned. Especially not the ones in Dawn's dream. What about all those Pokémon that Meowth always dreams Giovanni has in his dreams. Are we gonna mentioned those now? --☆ケンジガール 23:34, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Already have a page for that--KukiTalk 23:36, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well that's merely a section of the boss fanasy article. Doesn't mean that other people should have dream Pokémon mentioned. --☆ケンジガール 23:39, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Color
Why is her table color white? It blends with the background. Wouldn't black/a shade of gray be better? tc26 02:00, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Leiji Matsumoto
I know there's been a crackdown on speculative trivia, but I honestly think Cynthia's design is a reference to Galaxy Express 999. Seriously, look at the Maetel-bot in that entry and tell me she's not inspired by that. - Nekusagi (don't know how to link myself)
- Done. She's not inspired by that. On a serious note, however, it's still speculation. Which isn't allowed on articles or something.--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 00:15, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- To compare a character to another one is an opinion, as well as speculation. Opinions are not shared by everyone so they don't belong in any article. Now, I already discussed this with Neku elsewhere so there needs to be no further inquiries about this. -Sketch 00:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Egg
After running Team Galactic out of Eterna, Cynthia approaches the player near the Bicycle Shop to give him or her an Egg. I'd edit the article myself to reflect this, but I'm not sure what's in the egg -- or where in the article the information should go. Recalcitrancy 16:08, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- It is a Togepi Egg. - Taylor 19:28, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
In the trivia...
The trivia states: Cynthia's team also has at least one attack that matches the type themes of every member of the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn Elite Four plus three members of Sinnoh's Elite Four. Flint is the only member not represented as none of Cynthia's Pokémon have Fire-type attacks.
Cynthia has a Fire-type attack: Flamethrower. It's on Garchomp before National Pokedex. If what this is stating after the NP, then please ignore this. - unsigned comment from Nidolord500 (talk • contribs)
Pokédex
In Platinum, Cynthia tells the player character that she went on an adventure with a Pokédex when she was younger (she says this when you meet her in Celestic Town). This isn't mentioned on her page, and I think it is kind of important. Adam 148 09:31, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- You know every trainer begins with a Pokédex. If you dont agree then give me examples of trainers without Pokédex. --Prongs (Talk • Contributions) 09:36, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- "You've got a Pokedex!? Wow! Etcetera!" Also, Pearl doesn't have one, and Wally doesn't seem to either. The game dialogue at the start of each game makes it seem like its a big deal; hence the Professor gives it after the player has done a task for him, not with the Starter Pokemon. — THE TROM — 09:44, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Dude about Pearl it is mentioned on his page and "doesnt seem to either" doesnt sounds convincing. Moreover as you administrators say "Wait till it is confirmes" although I dont think it will ever be . --Prongs (Talk • Contributions) 09:48, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

When exactly was the Pokédex invented anyway? Adam 148 09:52, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Pearl didn't get one because he was in a rush. Wally because he started on his own, without a starter nor a Pokédex. Other Trainers because there to lazy to get themselves one. You only see the Main player and Rival get a PokéDex. And as for Trom and Prongs, Both of you need to stop being hostile to eachother.--FF(edits•talk) 09:56, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Leave your messages after a : and it was recently before the first genera.. Brainwave! We are not hostile just a friendly argument. If this server breaks once more I will kill someone. --Prongs (Talk • Contributions) 10:16, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry... I'm being hostile? It certainly wasn't intentional. I just answered the question.... Again, sorry if it seemed like that. — THE TROM — 10:21, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Unless Cynthia is only thirteen years old (which she'd have to be to start out with a Pokédex [invented three years before Generation II and IV]) it's possible Cynthia started out with a forerunner/prototype of the Pokédex, such as the P*DA. But this is only speculation. Adam 148 11:15, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Prof. Oak created the PokéDex way before Gen I. And you have to be 10 to be a Trainer.--FF(edits•talk) 11:19, 4 April 2009 (UTC)--FF(edits•talk) 11:19, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Exactly my point, she started her adventure before D/P/Pt, and the Pokédex was created, let's say a year (not actual time), before Gen I, she'd have to have been 10 to start out on her adventure at this time if she'd had a Pokédex, and she looks older than fourteen. Adam 148 11:27, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Of course. But yet this is speculation, I mean she could've started being a trainer late in her life.--FF(edits•talk) 11:31, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- True... Adam 148 11:34, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- Actually in the games Oak says that he created it just a little time ago and many state that Cynthia is quite experienced. --Prongs (Talk • Contributions) 15:13, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- In fact, when you beats her the first time (in Platinum at least) and Rowan shows up, he states it has been a long time since he has been at the Hall of Fame, and Cynthia comments that if the last time he had been there was when she had become champion, then it was a long time ago. So she must have had her Pokédex for quite some time. Adam 148 10:25, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

3 years
In Cynthia's trivia section, there is a bullet saying "Although Cynthia mentions she started with a Pokédex, in Generation I (approximately three years before the events of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum) Professor Oak mentions that it is his newest invention." How do we know that the events of Gold, Silver, and Crystal are happening at the same time as Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum? Jasmine is actually in Sinnoh during generation IV, so how could she be in Sinnoh and in Johto at her gym at the same time? --いぬみみ 19:17, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- The Red Gyarados happens after you beat Jasmine. It is highly possible that she goes to Sinnoh to recover after her loss; there is nothing to deny this. It could also happen shortly before she is faced by the player of GSC. While the two generations appear to happen within the same time frame, they don't appear to be concurrent. — THE TROM — 21:18, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Platinum and Arceus reference
In Platinum, I specifically remember that if you went and checked the cave painting in the Celestic Ruins again after beating the Elite Four, Cynthia showed up and gave a big lecture on the dragon trio, lake trio, and speculation on Arceus. Somebody should go and check that, and put it in the quotes section. TorchicBlaziken (talk•edits) 21:10, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
