James's Carnivine

(Japanese: コジロウのマスキッパ Kojiro's Muskippa) was the first Pokémon that James obtained in the Diamond & Pearl anime. However, he caught Muskippa long before its first appearance in Find Pikachu! Route 202!. In the first episode, he found its Poké Ball in a collection of bottlecaps he had left at his family mansion in Shin'ō. Its Japanese voice actor is 阪口大助 Daisuke Sakaguchi.

Much like his Victreebel, Muskippa likes trying to eat his head when it is released. However, much like his Cacnea's prickly hugs, this is obviously an act of pure affection.
