Suicune is a blue wolf-like creature with some feline characteristics, white rhombus-shaped spots and a white underside. Suicune has a purple cape that resembles a northern aurora or a flowing river and two white streamer-like tails, strangely these tails are never seen flowing behind Suicune, a possible effect from the Northern wind blowing from behind it. It has a hexagon-shaped crest on its forehead and has small paws.

Special abilities
Suicune has the power to purify dirty water and can walk across water. Northern winds always seems to blow where ever it shows up. Because Suicune is the embodiment of the north winds, it is able to learn and use almost every attack with relation to the wind (such as Gust, Icy Wind, Blizzard, and even Tailwind, making it the only non-Flying type to do so). Suicune, like the other Legendary Beasts, is also extremely fast, but, interestingly, it does not learn ExtremeSpeed naturally. It also sports limited mental powers.
Behavior
In the anime, Suicune has shown a heroic and calm nature to dangerous situations and has appeared just in time to save the main character or character of the day, as shown in Drifloon on the Wind! when it races to save Ash and Paige.
In Pokémon Special, it was thought to be searching for a trainer strong enough to master him, but was however looking for allies in the battle against the Mask of Ice to save its creator, Ho-Oh.
It's sometimes seen "howling" off sides of cliffs.
Since Suicune is a member of the Legendary Beast Trio, Suicune races around the land. Some say it searches for a pure reservoir. Many speculate that Suicune and the rest of the Legendary Beasts are indeed not unique species because in Celebi: Voice of the Forest, Professor Oak speaks as if the Suicune in question was a specific Pokémon of that species.
The first significant and lengthy appearance of Suicune is in Celebi: Voice of the Forest. In the course of the movie, it demonstrated its ability to purify water, as well as doing battle with Dark Celebi.
Suicune was awakened by Yellow along with its two counterparts, and the three raced around Kanto and Johto looking for Trainers to help them defeat the Mask of Ice to free Ho-Oh. Suicune, in particular, personally challenges nearly every single Gym Leader in the two regions. During its travels, it encounters both Eusine and Crystal, both of which become obsessed with capturing it. Crystal acquires the Crystal Bell, but is still unable to capture Suicune. She has her confidence shattered by this and has to retreat back to her old training grounds to regain her confidence. Suicune later chooses Misty as its partner, but then pairs up with Crystal anyway after Misty becomes injured.
When released from a Poké Ball, Suicune unleashes a blast of Icy Wind that causes high levels of damage. Suicune returns in Brawl but with a different attack, Aurora Beam.

Pokémon Crystal: It is possible to see Suicune multiple times on the overworld before the actual battle in Tin Tower. In these occasions, it will always hop away on being spotted.

In the anime, Suicune's body color and headpiece are more of a bluish-green color, while its in-game sprites and Ken Sugimori's official artwork show Suicune's body being more of a sky blue color.
In Crystal Version, Suicune does not know Roar like it does in Gold and Silver, due to it being a stationary boss. This change carried over to FireRed and LeafGreen, making Suicune the only one of the roaming trio that cannot Roar its opponent away. Thus, it is the easiest to catch. This change carried over to Generation IV as well, possibly because of Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver using the same storyline as Crystal.
Suicune is one of few Pokémon whose sprites are the same in both Gold and Silver.
Origin
Suicune resembles a maned wolf in its body type as well as some of it's habits, or a cheetah in the way it runs. Its ability to purify water is also reminiscent of a unicorn. Suicune may also resemble Fujin, the Shinto god of wind, who wears leopard skin.
Name origin
Suicune's name is probably based off its Japanese name, Suikun. Suikun is likely a combination of 水 sui, water, and 君 kun, monarch.
