Vine Whip (Japanese: つるのムチ Vine Whip) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Generation I – III
Vine Whip inflicts damage, has no secondary effect, and has 10 PP.
Generation IV
The PP of Vine Whip increases to 15. All other effects are the same.

Bulbasaur. Two vines come out of Bulbasaur's bulb and hit the opponent.
- Used by Ash Ketchum's Bulbasaur from Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village to present. Debut.
- Used by Duplica's Ditto in the form of Bulbasaur in Ditto's Mysterious Mansion.
- Used by many wild Bulbasaur in Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden.
- Used by the Mayor of Trovitopolis's Bulbasaur in The Mystery Menace.
- Used by a Bulbasaur brought by Professor Oak in A Six Pack Attack!.
- Used by May's Bulbasaur from Grass Hysteria until its evolution.
Venusaur. Several vines come out from under the leaves on its back and hit the opponent.
- Used by a wild Venusaur in Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden.
- Used by Mewtwo's Venusaur in Mewtwo Strikes Back.
- Used by Drake's Venusaur in Enter the Dragonite.
- Used by Spenser's Venusaur in Ka Boom with a View.
- Used by May's Venusaur from Pruning a Passel of Pals to present.
Ivysaur. Two vines come out of Ivysaur's bulb and hits the opponent.
- Used by Pokémon League entrance exam instructor's Ivysaur under the control of James in The Ultimate Test.
- Used by Assunta's Ivysaur in Friends to the End.
Victreebel. It uses its single vine to strike or ensnare the opponent, or it can get two more green ones that come out from in between its body and its leaves.
- Used by James's Victreebel from The Breeding Center Secret to Here's Lookin' at You, Elekid.
Chikorita. Two green vines come from its bud necklace and hit the opponent.
- Used by Casey's Chikorita from The Double Trouble Header to The Bug Stops Here.
- Used by Ash Ketchum's Chikorita from The Chikorita Rescue to Current Events.
- Used by a Unknown Trainer's Chikorita in Arriving in Style!. (Vines come from body)
Sudowoodo. Two green vines come out from Sudowoodo's hands. (Used via Mimic).
- Used by a wild Sudowoodo in Type Casting.
Bellsprout. Two green vines come out from in between its leaves and body and strike the opponent.
- Used by Old Man Shuckle's Spoopy in A Better Pill to Swallow.
Bayleef. Two dark green vines come from the plants on its neck and strike the opponent.
- Used by Ash Ketchum's Bayleef from Current Events to present.
Tangela. Tangela hits the opponent with two blue vines from its body.
- Used by multiple wild Tangela in For Ho-oh the Bells Toll!.
Meganium. To green vines come from the plants on its neck and strike the opponent.
- Used by Vincent's Meganium in Tie One On! to present.
Carnivine. Two green vines come out of its neck to strike its opponent.
- Used by James's Carnivine from Saving the World From Ruins! to present.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Vine Whip is Ivysaur's Special Up move.
