Last Resort (Japanese: とっておき The Best) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Last Resort inflicts damage and has no secondary effect. However, it cannot be used until all other moves that the user knows have been fully executed, at least once, during the battle.

This 'counter' resets if the user switches out, faints, or the battle ends. Last Resort will fail if it is the only move the user knows.

Trivia

• It is, as of Generation IV, the only known move that has a base power of 130, although the variable move Fling when used with an Iron Ball also has a base power of 130.
• It is physically impossible to use Last Resort when the user is holding a Choice item. A move such as Trick can fix this, however.
  • However, it is possible for a Buneary or Lopunny with the Klutz ability to use Last Resort while holding a Choice item (as Klutz prevents the item from working anyway).
