Trivia

  • Honchkrow's Speed is lower then its pre-evolution's Speed, likely because it is plumper.
  • No other Pokémon besides its pre-evolution Murkrow has the same type combination as Honchkrow.

Origin

Honchkrow is based on of a crow. While it's pre-evolution Murkrow appears to be based on a witches of western folklore, Honchkrow's appearance is reminiscent of a Crime boss. Honchkrows crest resembles a wide-brimmed fedora hat, an article of clothing often associated with mobsters.

Name origin

Its name is a combination of "honcho", a leader or boss, and "crow".

Don is Spanish for lord and is a title for Mafia leaders, while 烏 karasu is Japanese for crow. Donkarasu literally means "Lord of crows".
