Sleep Powder (Japanese: ねむりごな Sleep Powder) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
It appears to be a sleep counterpart to PoisonPowder and Stun Spore, as the accuracy, contest group, appeal, effects, Japanese names and animation are the same or very similar. They are also usually learned at the same level or in a similar pattern.
Effect
Generation I-II
Sleep Powder puts the target to sleep. It will not affect a target that already has a major status ailment. In Stadium, Sleep Powder can't affect a target that has a Substitute.
Generation III and on
Sleep Powder's effects remain the same, except that now it can't affect targets with Insomnia or Vital Spirit as their ability.
