Talk:Turnback Cave
After reading the article, I'm still not sure how this cave works.
Is it a set puzzle (ie. is there a specific order of directions to follow in order to reach Giratina in just three rooms), or is it totally random whether the next room will contain a pillar or not?
The answer should probably be worked into the article somehow. -Pat 15:32, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- I also wondered this. TTEchidna 23:20, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
- It's completely random. --Shiny Noctowl 00:07, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
I also have a concern/question. You see, I reached Giratina in 6 rooms, and then caught it. When I went back to get the item, I found a reaper cloth which, according to the article, is the wrong item. Resolver13 06:55, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- When you return, it's how many rooms it takes. So the number of rooms it took for Giratina is irrelevant. Gywall(Talk) 09:50, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
So is there any way to determine?
Or is it just pure dumb luck to get a Reaper Cloth? TTEchidna 02:17, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- Last I readit's random. Oh and btw; I made it through in only 4 rooms §hin¥£iΨ@chµ 02:02, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
A Glich?
I was walking around Turnback Cave with a Max Repel and I had my Haunter lv57 as my first Pokémon for repeling any wild Pokémon but suddenly a wild Bronzong lv66 appeared. I managed to catch it and it is in my Pokémon Diamond now. Can someone tell me, if this is a glich or is it normal for Bronzong lv66 to appear? Thanks in advance! Becko 19:25, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- I dont think so, repels only block a certain level from appearing, im not so sure with max repels though--デビッド Aipom (Speaks To Me):] 秘密の通信 19:26, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Quote from Repel: "A Repel is an item which lets the player walk a certain number of steps without encountering Pokémon with a lower level than the first member in the player's party." Since your Haunter was Lv57, and the Bronzong was Lv66, the Max Repel would have had no effect on it, but any Pokémon Lv56 and below wouldn't appear. - Kogoro | Talk to me | 19:38, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- But was it normal that the wild Bronzong was at lv66? It's kind of unusual and on the article it says that Bronzong apears only at lv45, lv46. Becko 19:40, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Items
For the items, are they always set for what you get after the first time, or will it change? I've always gotten a Rare Bone, but I haven't tried getting the Stardust yet, so I wouldn't know. R.A. Hunter B. 17:44, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Location
We should state it in the article like we did for any other places. I don't know about it though. -Billy4b2004 10:38, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
I think I'm glitched
I put in the section that items can be received even with Giratina in the room, because in my Pokémon Diamond, I didn't catch Giratina and I can pick up items that are hidden behind him. But in my Pokémon Pearl, There is no item behind Giratina. I just found that out when I went to battle him in Pearl yesterday. So is it Pearl that's glitched or Diamond that's glitched?--Brats817 21:01, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, you actually can walk behind Giratina. In my Diamond. There is a hidden item there, but in my Pearl, there isn't one. I don't know what happened.--Brats817 21:07, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
The same as listed in the Turnback Cave section. Reaper Cloth in 3 rooms, 4 through 15 Rare Bone, and 16 to 30 Stardust.--Brats817 21:10, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Please use the colons to indent your comments so that it gets less confusing. Anyways, so you tried this more than once?--freezingCOLD (page, talk) 21:13, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes. And I got an item every time in Diamond.--Brats817 21:15, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- I was wondering about that when you put it in, but decided not to take it out. I hadn't seen any item behind Giratina when I first caught him, and had to go back in to get one. And I have Pearl. R.A. Hunter B. 21:35, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, I hope that this isn't a bad glitch in my game, because I left Giratina in his cave even after I had LONG beaten the Elite Four the first time. I'm able to get items that are behind Giratina in my Diamond version. I wonder if any other of these games have this glitch. I hope it has nothing to do with my Action Replay. I used it on my game a couple times, but only after I beat the game and I didn't use any cheat related to Turnback Cave whatsoever.--Brats817 22:32, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- Action Replays screw up your game, even if you don't realize it. Or even if you aren't doing anything at the time, but you still have some codes active. R.A. Hunter B. 20:26, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
My Action Replay never seems to screw my game up. But it might have something to do with an item behind Giratina in my game. I don't use any advanced or dangerous cheats. I use only ones such as move modifiers to teach my Pokémon specific moves, or cheats to allow me to get event Pokemon. I can't normally get event only Pokémon from where I'm at. :(--Brats817 21:05, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Item
I just got the Rare Bone (playing Platinum) and the item stayed there as i picked it up (like, the pokeball sprite was there while it played the picking up item screen and music). I know this glitch had been mentioned before, but i think it should be in this article too under Trivia. Add? CherryParanoia 00:59, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it should be mentioned on this page. —darklordtrom 01:05, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Pokemon levels
They aren't 45-46 at max. I ran into and caught a level 65 bronzong there. It appears that the closer you get to Giranita's room, the higher the wild Pokemon. I wouldn't have noticed this myself unless I used a repel and my main Pokemon was level 63. I only found wild Pokemon when I was 2-3 doors away. (game: Diamond) -- Pokey 07:32, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
- Copied from the footer of the wild Pokémon template: "Note: Listed levels are for Pokémon encountered before the first pillar. Levels of Pokémon encountered increase by 10 for every pillar that has been passed. Otherwise, encounter rate is the same." So after two pillars the max level would be 65-66.
