Talkpage Comments

hi

Hi PsychicRider,

can I have a question? Can you look at this? My English is not much good so please write me back. Is my user page OK? Thanks. - unsigned comment from Issus (talkcontribs)

Hello, Yes your user page is OK, basically anything can really go on the userpage as long as it follows the Userspace policy and as long the edits to the userspace are kept low compared to the mainspace, so it's fine right now. :D. --Psyライダー 18:37, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
That's fine. Thanks. --Issus 21:55, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
No problem, I'm happy to help. :) --Psyライダー 21:56, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Cerulean City

Hi, just trying to understand a revision you made to the Cerulean City page last month. You added a full moveset listing for Bulbasaur when it's just the default moves for its level. Is there any special reason why this needs to be displayed? Schreiber 10:09, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

It's the moveset to the Bulbasaur that is given to the player in Yellow, and is a special event-ish Pokémon. --Psyライダー 22:05, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

In reply

Well aware. It must have slipped once or twice. I've done quite a lot of summaries with quite a lot of links. It's only natural that I slip up once. SinnohFan 22:31, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Ok. Well, actually...You really didn't do anything wrong with the links...It was more of a easier thing to do instead of typing out like Pikachu you could have used Pikachu for example. I wasn't aware that you knew the link templates were there...Apologies~ --Psyライダー 22:44, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
But why is it necessary for you to edit them? I come from Wikipedia and WikiHow and I'm very used to the TEXT style. It's not actually easier for me to write Pikachu because I am way too used to LINK/TEXT. I don't find it necessary to have to learn your template style, nor do I find it necessary for you to need to edit my LINK/TEXT style. As long as I redirect them to the correct page, I see very little differences other than I have to memorize another template on one. SinnohFan 01:45, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Because Link Templates are official policy here on Bulbapedia. Bulbapedia is not Wikipedia. Our policies are different from theirs...--Psyライダー 01:54, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Well then how about this: I'll write my summaries and make someone else do the links. I spend plenty of my time doing favors for this site and if it's going to be nitpicky with my templates and force me to change years of experience, then I'll stick with my experience and make someone else do the webbing. SinnohFan 01:58, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
No. That's more work for us to follow you around and fix what you can do in one edit. Our policies and rules > Wikipedia rules and polices... --Psyライダー 02:02, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Show me in the rules where it says I have to web-together pages when I edit. I plan(ned) on finishing up the summaries for the entire anime series, and you can have the summaries without the links or you have the summaries with the links without the template or you don't have the summaries at all. Choose your pick. SinnohFan 02:06, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
The templates are policy for a reason; by containing the links within small templates, page bytes are reduced, it makes our jobs easier when re-locating pages, and cuts down on links to disambiguation pages.
We do appreciate your work writing these summaries, but if you're not going to correctly template and format them, you only give us more work; following behind your every edit and fixing your formatting. Time and edits that could be spent writing summaries in the correct format the first time around.
I'm not asking you to memorize much, or completely re-learn coding. It's as simple as using Pikachu instead of Pikachu, and so on. The link templates aren't hard to remember at all; if you can't remember one, it's not a huge deal, if you mess one up, not a big issue. But if you're going to completely ignore them because you prefer to do it Wikipedia style, then perhaps you'd be better off spending your time editing Wikipedia, rather then coming here and attempting to apply Wikipedia's style to Bulbapedia.
And just an FYI, I'm personally a long-time editor of both Wikipedia and a few other MediaWiki sites, as well as an administrator on a few. I know what you mean when you say you've grown used to the normal link formatting. But you'll just have to trust me when I say that using the link templates here is not only easy, but in most instances, a good deal faster and simpler.
Just do us a favor and try to use them. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:19, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Well then if I'm so much work you can keep your empty summaries. SinnohFan 02:28, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

(resetting indent)We have many users here. If you want to cooperate, that's fine. If you don't want to, that's fine too. This and this may help. ht14 02:35, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm aware you have many users, but I was the only one who has the initiative to finish the entire anime series' summaries. I'm quite exuberant with not cooperating and leaving you guys with blank summaries. See ya. SinnohFan 02:51, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
We just want you to use link templates. It's truly not harder than what you're doing. If you want to leave, that's your choice. All we want it is for you to use them. They are much easier and allow for quicker change if necessary... --Psyライダー 02:58, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Phantom page

What did you just do on the The Phantom page? --Hmdwgf 06:32, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Spelling mistakes. I fixed "projecters" to "projectors"" and "vincity" to "vicinity". Tis all~ --Psyライダー 06:49, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah. I never saw those mistakes. --Hmdwgf 08:01, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I see. I do make those kind of edits a lot. --Psyライダー 13:33, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

I need a little help

How to do a redirect, I kinda forgot.--Midnight Blue 02:06, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

#REDIRECT Where you want to link. --Psyライダー 02:08, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
And where do I put that? Darn my natural stupidity.--Midnight Blue 02:10, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
You just create the page you want to redirect to, and paste that there and click save and it should redirect to the main page when you search the redirected article...If that makes sense...>_>. --Psyライダー 02:15, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Alright, thanks.--Midnight Blue 02:16, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
No problem~ --Psyライダー 02:27, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

EP137-Sorry for causing you extra work

My most abject apologies. I'm new to Bulbapedia so just to clarify a few things:

 • Use American English
 • Capitalise the word "Pokémon"
 • Spell check everything (Sorry again for being lazy there)
 • And also it seems, use templates rather than piped linking.

Is there anything else I missed?

Thank you for your time.--Beligaronia 09:28, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

Follow the MOS, don't put your opinion, and make sure what you're adding is true. And that should be it. R.A. Hunter Blade 13:44, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, that's about right. It's not a problem though since a majority of what I do is spelling/grammar checks...--Psyライダー 15:47, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

I made a mistake....

Sorry for my removing relevant information from Vulpix's page. I was limiting myself by thinking only about anime appearances, and did not think then that side games (of which I am not familiar with) would have consideration. My mistake. Steph 03:47, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Tis quite all right. You have my forgiveness hahaha...:P. --Psyライダー 03:49, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Changing pictures

Is it really necessary to change the pictures? In many of them you are changing from full body shots to head shots. It may be clearer, but it shows less of the character. Blake Talk·Edits 23:01, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Yep, considering we're going from jpg to png, I feel its necessary to change them. And to be honest, no one is really going to care if the body is shown or not...and that's even saying if people even look at the pictures...--Psyライダー 23:04, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

I understand

I understand your concern. However, though it is Serebii's work, many of Bulbapedia's pages would not have been created withought Serebii. How about we rewrite it in our own words? I think the pictures are OK to use from there, as many pictures come from the site as well. Your thoughts? - 050294 00:42, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Ask Serebii if he's ok with it first, and then use the pics giving credit to them. His email's on Serebii. ht14 00:47, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
If you're writing a paper, would you copy and paste information just because "the paper wouldn't have been written without these websites"? No. Taking Serebii's words is stealing and, in most countries, illegal. Please do not use his images, either. --RexRacer 00:49, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
This is the wrong attitude to take with this. You are suggesting that Serebii is THE source for all Pokémon information. And that just isn't true. Do not e-mail him to ask. We will get our own information and screenshots. -Sketch 00:52, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

No, I wasn't suggesting it was the source, I realize they get their info from other places, though they do get it from either semi-reliable (IE Corocoro) or comepletely reliable (IE Pokémon website) sources. My apologies. - 050294 00:56, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Ash's Party Pic!

Hey Rider, I want to know something. You putted that bad picture template on Ash's Party in DP167 pic and I want to know why. You mentioned two reasons Horribly cropped and blurry.

Well, I cropped it in this way because the whole picture was filled with useless space and some other Pokémon. So, is it looking that badly cropped?
Second, I cropped it from a 1280*720 (1.25 mb size) screenshot taken from a 720p HD quality video and you still think its blurry? It doesn't make any sense. Can you please explain it? Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 11:11, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Well, to be honest...The picture in general is ugly...Most of the Pokémon are like horribly drawn or something because they are honestly really ugly, Infernape, Buizel, Staraptor and Gible to be exact, but I don't know if it was like that before or after cropping...I'm not sure any solution, but a different picture would be better...It's just either ugly or blurry...--Psyライダー 12:17, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Oh, now I get it. Its definately ugly in that case. I have the full version of this image and the quality in both images is same and its not because of cropping. It's the animation which made it look ugly. Well, if that's the main reason then we should simply remove the pic because its quality is on peek and can't be better by any other way. If you want the full version then I can give you that too but I don't think that's the solution. So, what are we going to do now? ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 12:23, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Throw the full image up somewhere so we can decide how much to crop it. But yeah, the newer animation style is getting a little odd. I noticed that with the Gible episodes. They've started using bolder lines during some of the "cool" and "funny" scenes. R.A. Hunter Blade 13:28, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Wish granted (:P). Here is the full version of that pic. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 13:43, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Question about images

If an image is non-animated, would you prefer it to be in PNG format? I noticed you left a comment on a couple articles saying "PNG...", does that mean PNG is a standard here? Cyan Ryan(talk) 01:18, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, they kinda keep the colors and junk together more and are generally higher quality...JPGs are uploadable, but the preferable type is PNG...Hope this helps~..--Psyライダー 01:21, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
So if I see an image in gif format or such, should I find a png version of it and upload it? Cyan Ryan(talk) 01:23, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes, gifs are apparently really ugly or so depending on what it is...--Psyライダー 01:31, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Woah thanks for catching that mistake, I had no idea I had that users username copied instead of the welcome thing. Thanks again, I'll be more careful next time ._. --ιɴsσмиιαc 17:40, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Too be honest, I thought it was that user at first who had done it...>_>...But don't worry, I've done it too, but it was a lot worse then having another user's name...But no biggy...--Psyライダー 17:46, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

I saw your recent edits

Thanks, haha! I'm usually so keen on keeping my pages free of errors, I don't know what made me mess up so much, blech! - 050294 20:01, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

It's alright. :p. It's what I do here, it happens a lot on pages though so it's no big deal...--Psyライダー 20:04, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Ugh. Ignore my double post. Bulbepedia is so sick recently. Feh. And thanks again. - 050294 20:05, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
In cases of double posts like that, it's quite OK to remove it...:U...Yes it is quite sick and HGSS/BW aren't helping relieve the stress...But yes, I'm happy I could help...--Psyライダー 20:09, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi.

I, for some reason, am incapable of editing articles. The notice at the top of the page that appears when I attempt to edit an article says that I need to confirm my electronic mail address, which I already have. Please note that I have read and understood the sitenotice, and in the box, nothing is said about this kind of error. Halp. Blue Ninjakoopa 22:55, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Are you sure that the confirmation went through? We've had a lot of 503's and 504's lately. Check in your preferences, and see if you can resend the confirmation email. TTEchidna 22:58, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
I've been having the same problem lately, and I still can't make my user page! How do you resend the E-mail? Star Light 03:54, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
They've changed the requirements since that, you now need to make a certain (unknown to all but the EB) number of mainspace edits and have been a registered user for a certain time (again, unknown) to edit your userpage. If you can't edit the mainspace then the email can be resent from your preferences. The reasoning behind the userpsace delay is that it helps remind new users that Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a Facebook. Mainspace articles are infinitely more important than userpages here. Werdnae (talk) 04:20, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
I know this is an encyclopedia! I just wanted to add basic info and user tags so I wouldn't look like nobody, and I hate Facebook. Anyway, you didn't answer my other question. How do you resend the confirmation E-mail? Star Light 17:51, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
You should be able to resend it from your preferences (click the link at the top of the page), if I remember correctly. If you can edit the mainspace articles then your email address should be confirmed and it is just a matter of making edits to the mainspace and waiting. Unfortunately the userpage block is a case of a few people ruining it for everyone. The admins realise that not every new user wants to edit their userpage 1000 times each day, but some do. Previously you could look at the contributions of a large number of users and find that they had never edited the mainspace, just their userpage. They are why it is like this. My apologies if it sounded like I was accusing you, I was just trying to give you some background, although I could should have worded it better. Werdnae (talk) 18:55, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
No worries, and thanks, but now I can edit without trouble and didn't have to do anything. Wonder what that was about? Anyway I think I should apologise too, I took it kind of rudely. No hard feelings! I'd like to help here however I can. Star Light 23:23, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

"Use this instead...:V"

Oh? How do I edit it? felinoel 05:48, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, if you go to, for example Roserade and view the coding after clicking the edit button, you'll be able to figure it out. Using a pre-made template is much easier than copying and pasting the whole coding. If you need more help, I'll be happy to help. --Psyライダー 06:19, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
But Roserade just uses the plain PokémonInfobox? Not the notcat one you used on my page? felinoel 06:28, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
The plain PokemonInfobox is for mainspace articles, which are categorized throughout the pedia, however the NonCat one I used on your page is the same, however, it's used mainly, if not exclusively, in the userspace because it doesn't categorize the page. The coding and everything is still the same, it just has no categories. --Psyライダー 06:32, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Ah I see, well I'm good now though, except I can't seem to figure out how to add a second type...
Hey, does this wiki care if I upload my own picture for my own use? Some wikis care about that... felinoel 06:53, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
You can copy and paste the coding for another Pokémon's template and then change it for your likings...and for uploading your image, you'd need to go to the Archives, which you can get to if you go to the side bar and click "upload file" and it will take you to the upload form for uploading your picture. --Psyライダー 07:01, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
I tend to like to alter the infobox's coding to my liking for my page, which is what I did if you go look at it, which is why I am having such a hard time adding the extra type. I usually just tell a page to access the file that is not there then I click the link given and it says the image doesn't exist would I like to upload it, it is easier this way imo, I was just checking to see if Bulbapedia had any objections about not really wiki material added images. felinoel 07:20, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
We do have objections to non-wiki material. If you do too much of it. Userspace limits are in place, and links to the policy are present in the welcome message. As for personal images, you're allowed up to three. You can use however many normal images as you wish on your userpage, such as sprites, screenshots, and other stuff used elsewhere on the wikis... but... pleeeeease don't go nuts. TTEchidna 08:12, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Could have sworn I looked over that to find it, oh well, thanks for the info. felinoel 08:15, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

New Picture for electrive

Hey i found a picture of electrive using thunder Adelllove25 16:13, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Then you can upload it at the Archives under the file name "Electivire Thunder.png" or something similar. --Psyライダー 18:08, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Problem with uploading.

Sorry, can you tell me why i can't upload images o.o? Crikko 18:36, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

I dunno for what reason, but Archives is currently locked from editing or uploading from normal users...Only JA and above can edit or upload. As for when it will be unlocked, I'm not sure...Hope this helped at least a bit...D; --Psyライダー 18:43, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Oh, don't worry, i think it's for the usual Black & White images galore...thanks for your answer ;) Crikko 19:13, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I dunno, we normally don't do that...or if we do, I don't notice because it doesn't affect me...:V, but no problem regardless... :D;...--Psyライダー 19:22, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Re:For future reference...

At least thanks to a better way by the fact of trying to make in this place that is full of people who know or ignores many things. I have no reason to explain to others because at first, I'm not a rookie either, and other users as CoolPikachu know me as I am. And second, I'm not insulted if they misunderstand and that is something that also previously CoolPikachu took it that way All I do is to notice how things really are for people to see on what is wrong. So just say that you should try to know me better. --Toonamimaniacolatino 20:57, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Uh...Ok, first of all, I really don't know what you just said, but it seems to me that you don't want to stop bashing the Spanish dub, if I'm reading this right. Second, CoolPikachu is an admin and therefore knows what he's doing, and seeing as he can understand your Spanish better than I can, so if he feels you're bashing the dub of another country, and tells you about it, you should stop. Bashing other languages, even if in your opinion is wrong, is not tolerated on BP and again, is a bannable offense. --Psyライダー 21:23, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
As I said, insulting the dubbing, I'm not doing, but if there is anything to dispute is that one thing is comment, criticize (which can be divided into criticism constructive, destructive) and disorcionar or difamamr. I note only ciertcas things as they really, because I have criteria for making critical but I do so as though destructicva paresca. It is a matter of to interpret the ideas and the language here in which one can communicate has nothing to do. --Toonamimaniacolatino 21:40, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Ok, yeah you have been bashing them...saying "This is one of the thousands of failures of dubbing in Spain" is bashing their dub. They do it differently then in your country it seems. However that is no excuse for saying insults like that in your edit summaries. Saying "Spain is not the only country in the world where the language is spoken and work with other translations (by the way are better)" is implying that Spain does a bad job at dubbing, and therefore is bashing them and their work. If you don't like their job of doing it, then just ignore it and when you type out edit summaries, leave the jabs at Spain out of them. It's only a matter of time before a user is offended by your comments...--Psyライダー 21:56, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

City Trivia

I have been putting that on diffrent Citie's/town's/island's trivia that what the name really is like that Cinnabar is a reddish mineral that is used to make Vermilion and you have been undoing them which doesen't make since sence (double word (= ) it is trivia. So please tell me why and let's not become enemeys.--MisMagius13 (tAlk) 21:16, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

I reverted the trivia because it was basically either in the article itself or it was in the name origin which tells the reader what the mineral is. --Psyライダー 21:23, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Talk Page Comments

"Removing talk page comments, including the initial welcome template, is prohibited per Bulbapedia's talk page policy. Please do not remove any comments in the future. If you wish to clean old comments away, you should archive your talk page instead. Thank you!"

Could you elaborate instead of posting vague and utterly useless posts on my Talk Page? "Thank you!" - unsigned comment from EarthKwake (talkcontribs)

Ok, sure. We don't want users to remove comments from their talk pages. It allows the staff to see everything or something, and the welcome template provides links that would be useful toward any user, new or seasoned. However, talk pages can be archived by moving them, like "User talk:EarthKwake/Archive 1". However the only catch is that the staff would like the page to have a lot more comments on it then just the welcome template and a few warnings. --Psyライダー 16:44, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
