You've been making too many edits to the User talk: namespace lately. Please take your conversations to the forums, a chatroom, e-mail, an IM service, or something similar, as that many edits will slow down the server. --MaverickNate 20:40, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh is my face red. Look at me all abusing the user talk namespace on five other user's talk pages and my own. Man, thanks. I'll think twice about carrying on a discussion that will not end until I win...--P S Yライダー 23:59, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

CharacterDex Question

Um, in light of the last section, I hope I won't be causing a problem, but this IS what the CharacterDex page said to do. Recently, I've noticed that pages like N's have all his quotes from everywhere, whereas Brendan didn't have any quotes before I added the Match Call section. What is the official CharacterDex policy? Personally, I prefer having all the quotes, but I was wondering which was considered better. :) Ikarishipper900 23:51, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

I agree. I think it would be better to have quotes for all game characters. --P S Yライダー 23:59, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Okay cool thank you. :) I can start getting quotes for some characters, but what I'm wondering now is would it be better for me to gather all the quotes from the whole game and then put it on the page, or put the quotes up as I go and put an incomplete template or something like that? The second would be easier, but I want to be sure that's okay. :) PS: Could this get added to the to-do list or something if we want the quotes? That thing hasn't been updated in.... Over a year, actually. (I apologize for asking a ton of questions. >__<) Ikarishipper900 23:11, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
No problem. You can tag them with incomplete and just use the reason "needs quotes" or something. Every little thing helps. And yes, I can add that to the to-do list. Cheers~ --P S Yライダー 02:34, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Confused...?

A user by the name blastoiseboy19 created his/her own page. I believe that one is not allowed to create a user page for him/herself. I'm guessing all the people with authoritiy missed this? Han Ji-Wan 02:36, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Users are allowed to make their own userpages and edit it once a day. If he does over edit, then we step in to protect it. --P S Yライダー 03:27, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
I think you misunderstood me. I meant to say that he/she created the page when he was not allowed to.. Do you get what I'm trying to say? Han Ji-Wan 04:24, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm not following you, sorry. He made edits and followed the rules, so he was able to create his userpage. I'm not sure exactly what you mean though. --P S Yライダー 04:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Okay, how exactly does one user get a user page and become an official member? The red link for the username becomes blue, and that shows that that user has become a member. It seems to me that blastoise19 created his page. I thought that only users of a higher authority, like you are allowed to create user pages for newbie members to like what I am now. Perhaps I'm not understanding the whole thing here? I hope this clears everything up for you so you can clear my confusion. Han Ji-Wan 05:16, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Once you register, you're an "official member". The redlink means that the userpage is not yet created. Once the user has edited enough mainspace pages and is autoconfirmed, they can create the userpage. --P S Yライダー 06:05, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing up my confusion. It's just that I have seen some users create user pages on their own and get immediately undone by others. Han Ji-Wan 06:09, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Might you have been thinking of users who create it in the mainspace?--P S Yライダー 06:48, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Woah. I looked at a random talk page and see my name. Yeah, I had a little chat with the dark lord trombonator and I got *cough*indirect*cough* permission to make a user page... user tags were just the coolest thing a week ago for noobs. :D Blastoiseboy19(Talk) was here at 19:43, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

MenisPuncher

I don't know if this name is appropiate or not so I thought I'd tell you about it. --Pokemaster97 19:35, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

I just welcomed him, sorry. I wasn't thinking for a minute if it was appropriate or not... :( Pokabu82 19:38, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
It's alright, we all make mistakes. They've been blocked but allowed to make a new account. --P S Yライダー 19:43, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

?Why?

Why did you protect me from editing my page?!?!? - unsigned comment from DrBrock (talkcontribs)

Because you did not read the one a day edit policy. Although, looking at the page history, I mistakenly used the wrong protection time. You can have it back, however, one edit a day, or you will lose it again. --P S Yライダー 21:29, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

Final Gambit

Hey, could you reply here concerning my undone edit, I think it's just a misunderstanding of what "Final Gambit will not faint a Pokémon with Sturdy." means though. Pikiwyn talk 18:31, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Alright, thank you. I've replied~ --P S Yライダー 19:44, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Question about additional personal pages

Hi! I want to ask if it is allowed here on Bulbapedia to create some more personal pages (besides my Main User Page). I mean to create sub-pages of my Main Page. Something like this: User:ATEMVEGETA/test page.

If this is allowed then can I create as many pages as I want? (I want to create a page for each Pokemon Glitch). Also can I put pictures and videos in those pages?

Also, what is that one-edit-a-day thing?

Thanks! ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 12:33, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't know how many more you can have actually, but there might be a limit, as Bulbapedia would probably not like 30 subpages, however, you can create that userpage. The one a day edit is in place because the servers are wonky from the Black & White rush and as such, limit to the userspace is to try to prevent server stress. --P S Yライダー 16:11, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

.png move

hey, can you move b.PNG to b.png, i forgot to change end of name, all windows computers do that for some reason :P --×Rsrdaman× 02:50, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes I can, and it's been done. :D --P S Yライダー 03:21, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Paul's Drapion

I put the protect template on Paul's Drapion's page after it was changed to a redirect as it just lost its notability status and there may have been edit conflicts. PattyMan 03:48, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Then just ask a person to protect it then. Otherwise, the redirect is broken. Ataro 04:00, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
I don't feel that it's a pressing matter at the time. If someone does try to revert, then action will be taken. Until then, it should stay unprotected. --P S Yライダー 04:02, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Just a thought

hi there, i only made an account to voice this tactic, i am thinking that in the Justified ability section you can include the beat up tactic for a double battle. The best thing to do is get a weavile which knows beat up, or chain breed a charizard like i have done, then use beat up against your own partner in a double battle. I use cobalion and i play online, with 4 people, so his attack with go up 4 stages(as beat up attacks the same number of times as the number of pokemon in your party) and from here on that pokemon, cobalion being quite fast and now will extremely high attack power, will sweep the other team easily. I didnt want to keep this to myself so hopefully it will be made known by you editing or creating a page? thanx 4 listening.Solar 09:42, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

It might be a good strategy, but it won't get put on the page. We're an encyclopedia, not a strategy guide, so we don't have strategies on the pages. Werdnae (talk) 09:45, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Sorry...

Sorry about that. Won't happen again! ISB 19:48, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

It's alright, just try to contribute more to the article itself. We get a lot of trivia daily and we're trying to cut it down to a very minimum for right now, hence the current trivia ban. --P S Yライダー 19:51, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Just to tell you

this_wiki has copied templates from Bulbapedia. Anything to do about this issue? Plan an attack like we did on 2008-2009 on The Pokemon Wiki. Slipknot Darkrai 21:21, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

We do not attack, we will try to talk with them and get them to change it. --P S Yライダー 21:27, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
Then why don't we talk and make a friendly agreement to that seeing that it is illegal. Slipknot Darkrai 21:45, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
I don't know why people think we organized an attack on them. We've never organized an attack on anyone. That's not how we roll. *puts on sunglasses* -- MAGNEDETH 21:48, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
We will and we're on the case. Trom is the resident copyright issue dealer, and he's been alerted to the issue and he will handle it by speaking to whoever is in charge. Thank you for your concern though, we've got this down. 8D --P S Yライダー 21:50, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

HerbalFusion

Keeps adding non-official information based on personal derivations and needs a permablock for this blatant vandalism according to the blocking policies for he is adding unconfirmed/false information and that is vandalism.(Also that is personal content in the mainspace.) Plus, his refusal to stop this blatant vandalism is called insubordination and is the same reason felinoel was permablocked. Please stop this ignored vandal before he alters the site's Pokémon pages irrevocably and permanantly. Thank you. - unsigned comment from Muk-a-matic (talkcontribs)

Whoa whoa whoa, calm down. Looking at his edits, they're not as false as they seem. Amoonguss are found on Route 10 and 11 in the tall dark grass, with the ones on Route 10 having their heads seen, as what he wrote. BW032 shows the Cottonee riding on the wind, hence the episode name, together during the mating season, as well as the Cottonee that I believe Ash befriended using Cotton Guard to defend itself against Ash's Scraggy. I don't recall the Helping Hand bit, but I'll ask around. None of what he wrote is in anyway vandalism or blockable. Felinoel and this user are not even comparable, so please don't refer to them as such. This user is trying to help, while Felinoel was a clear troll. Thank you for understanding. --P S Yライダー 22:28, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

Trivia additions

I understand the reasoning behind the recent ban on trivia additions, but I think it was a little over the top to actually delete my addition to Azelf's page. Azelf currently has no trivia associated with it at all. If its page is in need of anything, I would argue it's trivia and not "actual content", as it's the only Pokémon to my memory whose Trivia section is completely blank.

I'm willing to accept that the other Pokémon whose Trivia section I updated with essentially the same message perhaps could do without additional trivia given the crackdown (though its own section has a mere two lines of it). But is one of Azelf's most unique and distinguishing competitive characteristics so irrelevant and pointless to warrant its removal, leaving its Trivia section again completely blank? Jumpman16 00:42, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Just because a page doesn't have any trivia associated with it doesn't mean we should automatically find something to add to it. Pages don't need trivia now. If there is nothing that can be added to the page content, there are dozens of more important things to do than add trivia. We have stubs that need expanding, pages that are actually incomplete, images that need uploading and pages that need to be created. --P S Yライダー 00:54, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Togepi (Sinnoh)

Our notability policy. And I quote: Pokémon that belong to characters of the day are never notable for their own article. However, in rare instances, an exception may be made if the Pokémon itself was a character of the day. I think that that Togepi more than qualifies as a character of the day in its own right, given that it was the focus of pretty much the entire episode. I would've brought it up on the talk page, but the article was deleted by you within seconds of the delete tag being put up on the page. Please reconsider, based on what I've told you. Thank you. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 02:45, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

We have that policy in place to prevent exactly what you made that article into: a summary of the episode itself. Without it, it would have been just another stub. You do not have any authority to announce that you'll "make this page myself right now." You run it by an admin for their consent and approval. That policy isn't there for show. The admin you should have went to is Kenji-girl. It's her job to decide who and what is notable. She is the leader of Project Anime, not you. Also, you should have put the article in your userspace first before you went ahead and created it in the mainspace. Please remember this next time. I think you've been here long enough to know how things work. --P S Yライダー 02:52, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, OK. But wasn't it just announced that articles about anime Pokémon shouldn't be made in the userspace anymore? Anyway, sorry. I'll keep this in mind in the future. And you're right, I've been here long enough, I ought to know how this stuff works by now. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 02:55, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure that's for the recent string of userspace articles revolving around the rumored Pokémon the characters are supposed to get, ie Dent's Audino, Ash's Roggenrola, etc. If you're unsure about the notability of a Pokémon, then the next best thing is to ask a staff member or bring it up on a talk page. That's what they're there for. --P S Yライダー 03:00, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I see. That's what I'll do next time. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 03:01, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Inspiration Behind Meloetta

I noticed an insightful suggestion for the inspiration behind Meloetta some months ago on Bulbapedia, clearly an indication of the careful research that goes into this premier Pokémon encyclopedia. I was surprised not to see it today so I re-posted something similar.

"Meloetta appears to be based on the Muses of Greek Mythology, in particular Terpsichore, the Muse of dance and chorus, and possibly Euterpe, the Muse of music and poetry."

Minutes after this was deleted again. Puzzled, I reviewed the history page only to read your note: "ONM AU&NZ Issue 30 June 2011 Page 63: Masuda says that no legendarys are related to Greek mythology". Here in the U.S., I really was not aware of this clarification by such an insider. Sorry for inconvenience – it was simply an earnest effort to uphold the level of scholarship that actually lies behind each Pokémon species. Moreover, what I am most sorry for is that Victini will also lose some incredible background as well in light of this revelation: "Conceptually, it might draw inspiration from Nike, the Greek, winged goddess of victory, or Victoria, the Roman equivalent of Nike. Its tail wings may be a reference to Nike's wings." I suppose such are tests to our commitment to accuracy.

AceTrainerAlvaro 22:50, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

I totally understand, I really do. We actually believed it to be based from a Greek standpoint, seeing as a lot of the inspiration was more western this time around, however since that magazine came out, it appears that it wasn't the case. However, Meloetta isn't out in the open yet, so it might still be based on Greek mythology, we'll have to see if there's any publication after it's revealed publicly. However, for now, we should leave it as it's not a Greek inspiration, if that's alright. D: --P S Yライダー 23:02, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

How to add.

Im trying to add my name to the team CharcterDex, but if i add just my user name at the bottom of the list, it wont show! it just becomes of the part after the list. What do i need to type ecacttly to add my name?~Bobo 23:03, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

You put your name after the show/hide function, which I added because we have a lot of users, so it wasn't appearing in the list. But, don't worry, I've fixed it. :D --P S Yライダー 23:07, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

about the shiny ditto glitch

i noticed you changed my informative article about the shiny ditto glitch into a redirect to a vague, nonhelpful part of the list of minor glitches. i undid this, as i think the article i made is helpful and well made, if not at least a good start. please dont make it a redirect again, or at least explain your position before you do. DJLO 00:25, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Too late. It is a minor glitch, as noted on that page. Do not tell me not to change it into a redirect, as I don't feel it worthy as needing its own page. However, you are free to add more info to the section on the page it is currently redirecting to. --P S Yライダー 00:27, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
