  • Could someone make a page with all the move combos on it? Jedibob5 23:22, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Picture

Those links at the bottom with that picture of May and Dawn isnt very good in my opinion. I think the old one was better. It showed May in a contest from her own series. does anyone agree? Mooites 02:00, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

List of towns

Anyone think we should get a list of all the different cities/towns (in the anime) that host contests? J-J-M 14:24, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Trivia

I realize this is a bit trivial (no pun intended), but should we perhaps mention that the Super and Hyper Hoenn Contest ranks are also types of Potions? That's what I first thought the Hoenn Contests were named after when I played Ruby and Sapphire. --PhantomJunkie 07:23, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Should we put in any info about Johto? E.g. "Though no Johto Contests have been showns in the anime (yet), they can be assumed to exist since May and Drew went to Johto for contests"? Eevee-Girl 17:17, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

"Coordinator"

So... why does this page use the term "Coordinator" as if it applied to all things Pokémon, even though the term isn't used in the games?

As far as I know there is exactly ONE use of the term "Coordinator" in any of the games (a little girl in D/P mentions she wants to be one), with no mention whatsoever of the term in the 3rd-generation games that introduced contests in the first place. And no mention whatsoever in contest-related parts of the 4th-generation games, either... so I wonder if that girl's line was only intended as some sort of reference to the anime's contests (does she still say "coordinator" in Japanese? It could be an anime reference that was only added in by the translators--after seeing a couple of Team Galactic grunts using Internet-speak, I wouldn't be too surprised.)

It'd probably be better to limit use of "Coordinator" to anime (and manga, if the manga uses the term also) sections and just say "trainer" for the other sections, since anyone who trains Pokémon is a trainer by definition (no matter whether they're training them for fights or for contests.) And of course, the anime(/manga?) sections would specify that trainers who specialize in contests are called "Coordinators" in the anime(/manga?) instead of having no specific term for them.

At the very least, things need to be edited a bit so that it's specified that "Coordinator" is a term that was created and used by the anime first, and is rarely (if ever) used in the games... the way the contest-related pages are written now makes it sound like "Coordinator" is (and always was) used by all Pokémon media, when that really isn't the case. --FnrrfYgmSchnish (talk) 04:00, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

"Pokémon Contest Spectacular"

Given that's the term the website and trailers for ORAS seem to be using, should the title of this article be changed to change? Or reference it in any sort of way?--Darknesslover5000 (talk) 18:30, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

If the basic flow and mechanics of the Spectaculars are the same as Hoenn's contests, as it seems to be the case, I beleive we can keep the page as-is and have Pokémon Contest Spectacular redirect here. This is why Super Contests have a page separate from normal ones, given its extra round and lack of jamming mechanics. - Chosen of Mana 15:45, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

Pokémon Contest Spectacular is slightly different to ordinary Gen III contests, could it warrant it's own page - this could include dialogue with Lisia and Chaz, the differences in Appeals and combos - the effect of exciting the audience (with the spectacular display), the changed default messages - this also references the Appeal page (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Appeal), which as of now is incorrect with incorrect display messages and icons for contest moves. A list of types of appeal moves would be nice, and a list of the spectacular displays. Or at least an addition to this page, highlighting the difference between Gen III and Gen VI.
