Tapu Lele (Japanese: カプ・テテフ Kapu-Tetefu) is a recurring Pokémon character in the anime that first appeared in Partner Promises!.
History
Tapu Koko first appeared in Partner Promises, where it healed Ash's wounds with its healing dust.
In SM031, it appeared in a fantasy, as Olivia talked to Ash and his his classmates about Akala Island.
In SM036, it passes by Ash and co., after Ash had defeated Olivia in the Akala Island grand trial in the Ruins of Life.
It reappeared in SM037, it passed by Ash's Rockruff at night, as it practised by itself. After seeing this, Tapu Lele battled it, eventually wearing the Puppy Pokémon out, and then left as it heard it's Trainer and Pikachu approaching. The next afternoon, it appeared floating above the battlefield in the Ruins of Life. It healed a wild Yungoos which was injured, that walked onto the battlefield. After Gladion's Lycanroc (Midnight Form) and Olivia's Lycanroc (Midday Form) brought Rockruff to it, it quickly attacked Gladion's Lycanroc. After seeing Ash's Rockruff, it proceeded to try and heal it with its scales, but to no avail, as Rockruff had not been recently injured in battle, but by falling off a cliff and into a river. Tapu Lele got angry at the thought that it had just used its healing powers unnecessarily, when doing so had no effect. It attacked Olivia's Lycanroc, making Gladion's Lycanroc angry, which in turn made Tapu Lele smile.
Tapu Lele then continued to try and attack the two Lycanroc, but then Ash turned up and protected his Rockruff and the Lycanroc from any damage that Tapu Lele was about to cause. Tapu Lele saw what Ash was doing and then flew towards all of them. Ash instinctively protected his Rockruff by covering its body with his own. Tapu Lele then used Draining Kiss on Gladion's Lycanroc, Olivia's Lycanroc, and on Ash, which knocked all three of them out. Tapu Lele surrounded all four of them with a move and Rockruff glowed green all over its body, waking it up. After this, Tapu Lele flew nearby, scattering more scales. After Rockruff watched the Green flash during the sunset, Tapu Lele smiled happily and then flew off.
