Magic Guard (Japanese: マジックガード Magic Guard) is an ability introduced in Generation IV that prevents indirect damage, such as from Hail, Toxic, or Leech Seed. It does not prevent status problems, but rather protects from damaging effects. Recoil and damage caused upon being switched in, such as Stealth Rock, is also prevented.
