Aggron are huge, black and gray, monstrous bipedal Pokémon. They stand on their hind legs and may use their arms to attack opponents and pick things up. They have a thick, long, black tail that they can swing at enemies and they have large armor plating on their body and head. Their face and head is covered in gray armor, with the uppermost, pointed plate possessing two pairs of holes on its upper section, with horns protruding from the foremost holes. These horns, which it uses to dig tunnels through bedrock when seeking food, grow a little longer at a time and can be used to determine the individual Aggron’s age. Aggron’s forehead plating extends past their upper jaws in a small point. Like its pre-evolutions, Aggron has sky-blue eyes, and a nostril-like hole on the tip of its upper jaw. On the rim of its mouth are several pointed, fang-like protrusions, and the nape of its neck and back have gray-colored armor sections. Aggron have pointed black bands on their shoulders, and gray bands on their arms and legs.

Special abilities
Like Steelix, Aggron's only real special ability is its incredible defense, but it does have an imposing 110 base Attack as well. Unlike other Template:Type2 Pokémon, Template:Type2 attacks are not super effective on Aggron because it is part Template:Type2.
Behavior
Aggron are very fierce and aggressive Pokémon. They claim entire mountains as their territory, patrolling it at all times and mercilessly beating up intruders. The gouges in its armor are apparently worn with pride as mementos from battles. If their environment is damaged by a flood or a forest fire, they will restore the area by bringing in topsoil and planting trees. Like many Pokémon (especially Kangaskhan), Aggron are very caring of their young and will defend them with their life.
Aggron, the Iron Armor Pokémon. Aggron's steel horns can destroy the firmest of bedrock and it digs tunnels as it looks for iron to eat.
In the manga
In Pokémon Adventures, Sapphire has a male Aggron that is nicknamed Rono. Giovanni later uses an Aggron to shatter Deoxys' triangular prism-like barrier with its Brick Break attack, capturing it. It has not been seen since.
Aggron claims an entire mountain as its own territory. It mercilessly beats up anything that violates its environment. This Pokémon vigilantly patrols its territory at all times.
Aggron is surprisingly protective of its environment. If its mountain is ravaged by a landslide or a fire, this Pokémon will haul topsoil to the area, plant trees, and beautifully restore its own territory.
Its iron horns grow longer a little at a time. They are used to determine the Aggron's age. The gouges in its armor are worn with pride as mementos from battles.

Despite being part Template:Type2, Aggron does not learn any Rock-type moves by leveling up. However, in HeartGold and SoulSilver, it learns Head Smash through breeding.
Coincidentally, Aggron and it's evolutionary family have many similarities to both Bastiodon and Rampardos. Aggron shares both types with Bastiodon, as well as similar movesets. Aron and Lairon, moreso than Aggron, look very similar to Shieldon and Bastiodon, walking on all four legs as well as having definitive metal plated heads. Aggron shares more of a resemblance to Rampardos, walking on two legs as well as having bands around the arms and legs. Aggron and Rampardos also have similar looking dome shaped, spiked skulls. These similarities could indicate that both Bastiodon and Rampardos were ancient relatives of the Aggron evolutionary family.
Aggron is commonly mistaken as a pseudo-legendary Pokémon, due to it being commonly seen as fearsome as a Tyranitar or something of the sort in the anime.
Origin
It may be based on a triceratops (a type of dinosaur), or on a samurai armor. It could also be a steel variant of Rhydon.
Name origin
Aggron's name is a combination of aggressive and iron.
Bossgodora may be a combination of the English words boss and dragon. It is more likely a combination of boss and a corruption of kodora, the Japanese name for Lairon, indicating that Aggron is a larger and meaner version of it's pre-evolution.
