Huntail is a light-blue aquatic Pokémon with a serpentine body. It has orange semi-circle spines running down the length of its back. The tip of Huntail's tail has a slight resemblance to Gorebyss' head. Huntail's body is dotted with white spots that are bordered by orange rings. Two of these rings are on its face, meant to resemble nostrils. It has a large mouth filled with sharp teeth. Huntail has an orange crest on its head.

Special abilities
Huntail normally attacks with its powerful jaws. Huntail has a strong and sturdy spine which helps it to survive the high levels of water pressure of the depth of the sea where it lives. It also has powerful eyesight.
Huntail, the Deep Sea Pokémon. Huntail is the evolved form of Clamperl. It uses its fish shaped tail to entice prey before snapping it up in its large jaws.
Huntail has appeared in aquariums belonging to Mr. Briney and Team Aqua. It also made a cameo appearance as a Pokémon that Sapphire swam on while she trained herself to be part of the wild.
Huntail's presence went unnoticed by people for a long time because it lives at extreme depths in the sea. This Pokémon's eyes can see clearly even in the murky dark depths of the ocean.
Huntail's tail is shaped like a fish. It uses the tail to attract prey, then swallows the prey whole with its large, gaping mouth. This Pokémon swims by wiggling its slender body like a snake.
To withstand the crushing pressure of water deep under the sea, its spine is very thick and sturdy. Its tail, which is shaped like a small fish, has eyes that light up.
It appears to have been based on the gulper eel or viperfish. However, it most closely resembles the rarely seen oarfish, mainly because of its orange-colored crest and fins.
Name origin
Huntail may be a combination of hunt or 斑点 hanten (speck or fleck) and tail.
