Roost (Japanese: はねやすめ Feather Rest) is a non-damaging Flying-type move introduced in Generation IV. It was TM51 in Generation IV. It retained its TM status in Gen VI, albeit as TM19.
Effect
Roost restores half of the user's maximum HP. If the user is a Flying-type, it will lose its Flying-type (thus being treated as a single-type Pokémon) until the next turn. If a non-Flying-type uses Roost, then there are no side-effects.
Generation IV
If a Pokémon that has become a pure Flying-type uses Roost, it will become a ???-type Pokémon until the end of the turn.
Generation V
If a pure Flying-type Pokémon uses Roost, it will become Normal-type until the end of the turn.
