Template Adds
Noticed you created a few, so I added this one which didn't exist yet. Feel free to tinker with it. CycloneGU (talk) 22:55, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- Don't make templates in the mainspace. glikglak 23:01, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, I thought that one would be fine because it was based on the others. Normally I wouldn't. CycloneGU (talk) 23:03, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- Always ask permission beforehand. I was going to get someone who could delete pages mainspace the one I had in my userspace. glikglak 23:12, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, that I didn't know you had. I figured that one was next, so wanted to save time by creating the bare bones of it so the image and its background could just be updated from there. I notified you here to make you aware in case you weren't on Recent Changes at the time. I figured it's quicker that way, hence why I did that. No harm was intended, and I do work in userspace; heck, I've been helping Abcboy with all the pages for the potential page split of the Shuffle stage data, which is progressing very well with the page structure generally complete. Template:Spritebox/3
Are you permitted to edit protected templates? I'm currently assisting Adamws at Archives to tag some images being replaced as the new ones are uploaded; that template will need a change to have the both Shiny and non-Shiny Emerald sprites (left column) labeled as PNG instead of GIF (Shiny are already PNG, but the wrong size, so that may need changing to another file naming structure as well). Adamws is still uploading, so this is for when he gets them done through Deoxys (386). He's at 275 as I type. Obviously, the GIFs will not be deleted until that change is made, after which other templates using them on various pages can be investigated prior to deletion. CycloneGU (talk) 02:01, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- I can, but so can most Archives staff. I'd rather leave file-related things to them. glikglak 02:37, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- Fair enough. If you are OK updating that one template (since it's on all of the first 386 Pokémon pages), Adam's up to 357 now, so 30 more Pokémon after this. Anything left over afterwards can be picked up by Archives staff. Some have a lot of entries, so I suspect some of the sprites being changed out are being used on user pages. If you want to leave that change to Archives staff, that's fine as well; I'll poke one of them. =) CycloneGU (talk) 03:30, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry for the wait - I had three that needed last minute fixing. Ok, the Emerald sprites are ready to be switched. Also, I know that Kogoro is working on a replacement/upgrade for the Template:Sidegame, but can the .gifs for Pinball, Pinball RS, and Trozei! be switched as well? Note that the animated .pngs have a different naming structure for Pinball and Pinball RS. Thanks. Adamws (talk) 04:35, 17 July 2015 (UTC)

Eevee Origin
When you say Eevee's ears are clearly not based on rabbits, I searched rabbits up and I noticed a certain resemblance between the two. If you even bothered to search rabbit up, you'd see it too. I also searched up fennec fox and the ears are not quite the same. For instance, the ears are much wider and a sandier color while a brown rabbit's ears look the exact same to Eevee's. I know Eevee's a mix of creatures, so everybody's opinion will be different on its origin But when you said " Eevee's ears are CLEARLY NOT based on rabbits.", that is simply not true because like I said, everybody's opinion is different and not everybody will agree with yours.Leafeon6954 (talk) 20:33, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- Eevee's ears aren't exactly analogous to anything. I find they have more commonalities with equine ears: the shape, positioning nearer the side of the head than the top, and exaggerated pointedness look like various equine. Several mammals with upright ears can look "exactly" like Eevee's, so you need to go off something a bit more objective than "looks like". Rabbit ears are situated at the top back of the skull and naturally face outwards as opposed to forwards. glikglak 23:10, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- I never said Eevee's ears looked exactly like. I said they had a certain resemblance. Also, just because you don't think Eevee's ears aren't like a rabbits doesn't mean you can delete my edit. I know quite a few people who think Eevee has rabbit ears and merely added that info to expand upon Eevee's origin.Leafeon6954 (talk) 15:41, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- Anyone can undo any edit of yours if they believe them to be incorrect. You have to come to an accord or, barring that, have staff weigh in on it. And the number of people who think Eevee's ears are rabbit-like obviously isn't that large, or something would have been brought up about them on its talk page already. glikglak 16:15, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- I have no opinion on this discussion, but wanted to bring in a possible example that Leafeon might be basing his opinion on. While many rabbits do have ears facing outward as you stated, the Eastern Cottontail has shorter ears that point the same way as Eevee's ears (though Eevee's are larger). Based on that specimen, it could be assumed the ears are like a rabbit's, though not exactly alike.
- Unfortunately, the only solution to this is to find the person who created Eevee and interview him. CycloneGU (talk) 17:28, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Hoopa
Can we at least get a basic page for Hoopa up so it's no longer a redlink? We can fill in the details later. I changed it so we didn't have a redlink on the page and saw another anime article reference later, so I'm fine with it going back; let's just get the basic page in, even if not complete yet. CycloneGU (talk) 23:11, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Ask someone who watches the anime. glikglak 23:25, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
- Not sure who to go for here. Regardless, just getting a basic page approved noting the page is for the movie Hoopa shouldn't be too difficult; it clears the redlink that would otherwise be dotted about. CycloneGU (talk) 23:31, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Serena's Pancham's gender
If Serena's Pancham's gender is unknown, then how come his page refers to him as male? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 02:56, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
Berry reverts?
Why did you revert the extra information on the berries? The berry descriptions are not very clear as to what they do, so this extra information would be useful to players so they can understand what exactly is being lowered. --Kitsuneae (talk) 00:21, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- There's an Effect section in the infobox that's specifically for properly explaining what the Berry does when used on Pokémon. glikglak 00:26, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- And if a Berry has no use as a held item, it doesn't need mentioning. If it does have a use, it goes under Uses. glikglak 00:37, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Rock Path split
We discussed the possibility to split Rock Path into Rock Path (Red and Blue Rescue Team) and Rock Path (Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky) and I think that we all came to agree that it was a good idea since no one disagreed. However no one has splited the page (I thought someone from the staff would) so I'm asking you if you could tell me how to split the page or do it yourself if that is a staff thing that I can't do. --Raltseye (talk) 11:26, 18 August 2015 (UTC)
Sidegames Layouts
Now that the Shuffle situation is sorted out, I'm getting my files ready for the sidegames layout additions. I've added the updated Shuffle information to all of the first 649 and all are now complete, and I'm just taking a little time to check the new entries from 650-719 that need to be added. Would you mind if I ask you to review some entries when I'm ready to make sure there's nothing that needs changing? I just pulled the Unown entry from your archive, too. LOL CycloneGU (talk) 20:52, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Assuming for now that you want to provide input, I have checked the first of the Kalos pages and noticed changes. For instance, for Chesnaught, I originally had entered:
This Pokémon was unavailable prior to Generation VI. | ||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
- Right now, it shows:
This Pokémon was unavailable prior to Generation VI. | |||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
- Ignoring for now that Shuffle wasn't completed when I put that in before, and if I'm recovering something herein, I apologize, but...is exnapding each Shuffle location name out really necessary? Is separating the main area from the Rumble World entries needed? I have the entire layout for Chesnaught, using this example, complted as follows right now:
This Pokémon was unavailable prior to Generation VI. | |||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
|
- I'll have to do a lot of redoing my entries before beginning; Find/Replace should do it, but what do you think of these layout options? CycloneGU (talk) 21:24, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- You can't find Shrub Forest by scrolling through your destinations in the balloon stop. The over-area name lets you know which one has the location in it. Similarly, the Shuffle area names allow you to scroll by area, instead of holding right continuously. This obviously isn't true of Expert Stages, but I'd keep that just for consistency. glikglak 23:32, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- And remember to put the actual Shuffle stage links in. glikglak 23:33, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, my thinking again was that I'm linking to the table. I saw those on Chesnaught and decided to take a break because I knew this was going to be a find and replace mission if I do it that way. The current suggested labeling for Leafy Expanse has two links to the same page, which is redundant. IMO it should all be one link where possible, not two separate links like the Rumble World one there is (more like: Leafy Expanse: Shrub Forest, which is an easy find and replace compared to the other one). Doing that on Shuffle may require some manual editing. I'll see what I can do here. It's kind of interesting I already have Battle Trozei expanded all the way through, and the page version doesn't but expands the others. Odd how that works. Guess I'll try to make them consisient. CycloneGU (talk) 00:08, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- All right. Your thoughts on these samples? I think I will change the "Reward", "Capsule Cage", and "Boss" text to be small on Rumble U entries, and there is the option for a second line on situations where more than one location exists, but again, your thoughts on possible changes and formatting are of interest. CycloneGU (talk) 02:54, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- BTW, I just finished expanding the Rumble U entries and put <small> tags around each of the (Boss), (Reward), etc. tags. If there's nothing else fundamentally wrong with these samples other than that, I can begin putting them in immediately. The only possible change is putting extra lines instead of letting text wrap around, but I'm not sure if this is deemed necessary and it's also not a very easy Find/Replace without possibly making other errors (such as "All Areas, Entrance Boss" getting split). CycloneGU (talk) 17:10, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Pokemon World in Relation to the real world
You recently reverted my edit on this page. Your summary stated that I didn't read the Lliad, which is true, but I don't think it changes anything. Although the name "Paris" might not originate from the city the character shares her name with the city, so if it isn't relevant then the Spearow called Kenya also shouldn't be on the page. It seems only right if the Spearow called Kenya is also removed because it doesn't actually reference a geographical location.Ratchet and Clank 1995 (talk) 15:27, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

Talk: Ash's Talonflame
Christian (talk) 20:53, 20 November 2015 (UTC) Hi Glik,
I have a great fact to add to the trivia of Ash's Talonflame.
- Talonflame is Ash's second Fire/Flying-type Pokémon. The first Pokémon Ash has with that type combination is Charizard.
I feel this is an important note because Ash never caught any other Pokémon other than Charizard with that type combination. This should not be removed because it is the truth.
I apologize for not letting anyone know about the addition.
Christian (talk) 02:09, 21 November 2015 (UTC) Yes it is. For example, they listed Ash's Snivy as Ash's second Grass-type starter being female. (The first is Bayleef.)
Re:Templates
How do I go about getting a template approved by staff? Miyamoto Musashi (talk) 12:26, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
- Just put
{{Mainspace}}
on it. There's a backlog of things, so it might take a while. If the template is just for your user pages, you actually don't need it in the mainspace; just put the whole page name (User:Yaddayadda/Template) in the curly braces. If you would keep conversations on one talk page, it would be appreciated. glikglak 12:32, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

About Trevor
You certain that Trevor doesn't have a rival? But he should be Clemont's rival. After all, Tierno is Ash's rival and Shauna is Serena's. Remember what Tierno said in XY042? Clemont and Trevor will be doing something one of these days. Just wait and see.--JasonL (Talk) 00:00, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
Well, are you sure that Trevor doesn't have a rival? I doubt he's Clemont's. Believe me, I've seen the episode at Summer Camp. It was a great, though. But I guarantee what Trevor and Clemont is going to do in a future episode soon..--JasonL (Talk) 00:53, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Sableye shirt and other clothing
Why aren't those facts notable for trivia? I sincerely don't understand why. In my opinion, this is the definition of something notable for the Trivia section, a little cool fact about this Pokémon. Just wanted to know why for the future. :) MannedTooth (talk) 20:45, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
- Pokémon-themed clothes are pretty common in the games: the Poké Maniac has a couple Charizard costumes, the Poké Kid is dressed as a Pikachu, PokéFans usually have something on their clothes (the females in X and Y even have Sableye belt buckles). If something's common, putting it in the trivia just makes people say "so what?". Unless the thing stands out significantly, it doesn't fit as trivia. Take, for instance, the trivia on Pikachu about the overworld Pikachu in Black and White. Lots of Pokémon have appeared in the overworld, and Pikachu's a pretty common one of those. But the Pikachu in Black and White stands out because it's the only non-Gen V Pokémon in the game before you've beaten the story, so that makes it notable. The Sableye shirt doesn't stand out from any of the other Pokémon clothes. glikglak 22:09, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
Synonyms and such
On your previous edit on PS001 you reverted some links I added such as Poli for Poliwhirl and Mew for "The Phantom Pokémon".
Isn't that okay to identify things so that readers can click on it if they are curious about what it was? MannedTooth (talk) 19:20, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
EP255 edit
Regarding this edit, I think there might be a misunderstanding. I did not add this to the "errors" section (your comment implies that it was erroneous to add it to the errors section). I added it to the "trivia" section. Please either revert it or give me a reason why this isn't trivia. --Dada (talk) 12:23, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- I indeed did make that mistake. However, I'm not going to add it back. Wobbuffet and Wynaut were specifically named to make those puns, so having their names be different in other languages obviously means they can't make them in a dub. It's certainly not the first time Wobbuffet's pun couldn't make it into an episode. glikglak 13:42, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- Are you saying there's no room for mentioning jokes that got lost in translation, or any kind of differences between the original and the English version, anywhere, ever? --Dada (talk) 17:32, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'm saying things that are commonplace aren't notable. glikglak 17:41, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- It's a whole scene in the episode that takes about 15-20 seconds. Not just some common occurrence. This is the first time these two Pokémon *ever* converse in the same scene together. You probably didn't see the Japanese episode. It's incredible to me that I have to argue this with you. Just let me put the info back within the context of the episode summary then. Dada (talk) 20:26, 28 January 2016 (UTC)
- Wobbuffet using its name as a pun, and it summarily not making it through translation, is what's commonplace. Puns in general don't make it through translation. If the explanation of that specific joke is your concern, the name origin section on Wobbuffet and Wynaut explain it. If you just feel it's significant that the two briefly conversed, I don't see a reason not to mention it in the plot summary. glikglak 01:47, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
- Well, in that case, thanks so much for not standing in the way of me putting back my edit which you erroneously removed. I'll just redo the work that you deleted, then. Can I just say that you're extremely disrespectful and I'm astounded that someone like you is an admin? Bulbapedia must have extremely low standards. If you make a mistake, you should do the labor to fix your mistake, instead of dumping it back on the user you screwed over. Or at least apologize, like any normal human being would. You removed my work erroneously and then kept making up stupid excuses for why you don't want to fix it, without even a shred of human decency or respectfulness towards a new contributor. You're exactly the type of person that makes me quit editing wikis. Again I offer that you probably never even saw the episode in Japanese, or speak the language, so I bet you don't know how to properly judge this anyway. But of course you are right, because you're an admin!!!
- This is what typically happens with wiki admins: you just can't argue with them on an equal basis. You can revert me just fine, whenever you damn well feel like it, but if I revert you I'll be reverting an *admin.* You just do what you please and there's no possibility of a discussion on equal terms. It's nothing short of abuse of power, and it disgusts me. If I never have to deal with you again it'll be too soon. THANKS AGAIN. Dada (talk) 12:37, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
- I mean, this is just complete nonsense. It's notable to say that Team Rocket was in disguise during 3 out of 4 times they called Ash by his real name, but it's not notable to show the first time a scene ever plays out the gag with Wobbuffet and Wynaut's names which doesn't translate? What in the world is your standard for notability? There are TONS of minuscule facts all over this entire wiki. There's a mention in the first episode about an extremely minor pun that doesn't translate. There are mentions of every single minor error in every episode. But apparently, this one thing is "not notable". Why does your opinion have to be the law? My theory is you hate being wrong, so you'll pull out every dumb excuse to make it seem like you're right. I'm just astounded that someone like you can be an admin. What you should do is permit the fact that maybe, just maybe, your opinion doesn't have to be the law of the land and sometimes you can simply permit someone else's opinion to stand, rather than deleting everything you personally don't like. But I don't have very high hopes for you. --Dada (talk) 12:55, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

(resetting indent)Your hostility is completely unwarranted and insults will never help you in an argument. Instead of breaking the code of conduct, you should have requested a staff member above me to review the situation; it's why we have a chain of command. Higher-ups have already done so and altered the page according with their decision. glikglak 13:52, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'm satisfied with the way the article's state turned out after the senior admin's decision. Yes, I was hostile. And it was wrong of me. I'm sorry—I shouldn't do this sort of thing. It was disrespectful. Although I also cannot say that I feel, even now, that my behavior was completely uncalled for. I don't think the way you handled this was very respectful either. Yet, the fact that a higher-up was needed illustrates how a discussion is extremely difficult, if not impossible, when one of the parties is an admin. --Dada (talk) 18:10, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if my responses came off as flippant or perfunctory, your arguments simply didn't convince me of its notability. Were I a regular user, a disagreement such as this would stop at the same point of neither wanting to concede; at that point, you'd contact a staff member to weigh in. You should follow that process even if you're disagreeing with a staff member, just going a step up the ladder. glikglak 19:44, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
Nidoking - Baragon
I was looking at Nidoking's talk page and history and noticed that all mentions of Baragon in the Origin section gets deleted. Their visual resemblance is striking and aren't particularly similar to anything else in existence. Not to mention that both creatures are have strong connections to the ground and Nidoking can learn lot of beam moves for no other good reason. That's way more similarities than some other entries I have seen in Origin sections. Gorilla is somehow alright in Nidoking's section but not Baragon. As far as I understood the conclusion ended up with that fictional characters shouldn't be added unless stated by GF. I don't think this makes much sense and it seems to solely be there to prevent negative impressions of "stealing designs". If there is such a strong opposition against adding Baragon I think at least it should be mentioned that Nidoking is similar to some Kaiju without namedropping. Petrichor (talk) 03:04, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
- The reason we don't name stuff like that is du( to the potential that we could be held accountable for copyright infringement under some sort of law for linking 2 franchises in that way...But it's Kogoro's decision, so it cannot be argued. Also, you seem to stretch to find origins that aren't there a lot. Maybe try to edit other areas of the site as to hae more edits that won't have as likely a chance of being reverted, since you seem to be making rapid amounts of edits in order to quickly get your userpage(There is also a time component, so a lot of edits aren't going to help you earn one).--BlisseyandtheAquaJets (talk) 03:14, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for moving my section to the correct place. Do you happen to know what law that is specifically? Godzilla is namedropped in Tyranitar's section, and there is a general note about kaijin in Bisharp's. So I don't see the problem with at least mentioning that it looks like a kaiju if nothing else(kaiju isn't just a single franchise so at least that should be alright). Just for the record, I have no intention of making a userpage, I only edited frequently because I had my own list of potential origins that I wanted to add. - Ask Editor in Chief Kogoro:It's her declaration, which shouldn't be questioned anyway due to her word being law, even if her declarations break and/or override policy. Also, unless you have better evidence from legal and reliable sources that a Pokémon is based on something, it's going to be reverted by someone above you..And I do apologize for that assumption, I've seen that behavior too many times in the past. It just matched the pattern of about 15 other users, 9 of whom are blocked indefinitely.--BlisseyandtheAquaJets (talk) 04:16, 30 January 2016 (UTC)
Why did you undo my changes to Tiny Woods? Is it just temporary so that we can fix the template or what? :o MannedTooth (Talk) 22:44, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
