Emergency Exit (Japanese: ききかいひ Crisis Prevention) is an Ability introduced in Generation VII. It is the signature Ability of Golisopod.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Emergency Exit drops below half of its full HP in battle, it will flee in wild battles, or switch out in Trainer battles.

It will activate only for the last hit of multi-strike moves, even if it would activate during one of the hits. The Ability won't activate if the attacker has Sheer Force. Red Card activates together with Emergency Exit while Eject Button activates first. Dragon Tail and Circle Throw switch out Pokémon before the Ability activates. If this Ability activates, it overrides U-turn and Volt Switch's secondary effect.

Emergency Exit will not activate if it falls belows half of its HP via confusion, hail, sandstorm or Substitute and will not activate after that unless it goes above 50% HP and falls again. It will also not activate if Pokémon's HP goes back above 50% after an attack (eg. via Sitrus Berry).

Outside of battle

It is unknown if Emergency Exit has effect outside of battle.
