Sableye are very diminutive hominid-like with dark purple bodies. Their bodies are adapted for cavelife as they flexible enough to fit into small crevices while being tough enough to survive cave-ins. Their most distinguishing feature are their gemstone-like eyes, which allows them to see in very little light. They also possess some gemstones on their bodies which apparently rise up from inside it's body. They presumably fall out and is apparently the by-product of its crystal and mineral diet. They are able to feed on such hard foods because of their sharp razor teeth which are designed to crunch up rocks.

Behavior
There are old stories that say a Sableye will steal your soul if you look into its eyes. However, evidence suggests that these Pokémon are actually friendly, only playing their infamous tricks on travelers in order to get attention because they become lonely living in dark holes all by themselves.
Sableye lead quiet lives deep inside caverns. They are feared, however, because these Pokémon are thought to steal the spirits of people when their eyes burn with a sinister glow in the darkness.
Sableye digs the ground with sharpened claws to find rocks that it eats. Substances in the eaten rocks crystallize an rise up to the Pokémon's body surface.
There are only two Pokémon created so far that are naturally weak to no type, of which Sableye is the first. The other is Spiritomb. The only ways to get a super-effective hit on those two are either to use Foresight or Odor Sleuth followed by a Fighting-type move, or to use a Pokémon with the Scrappy ability which knows a Fighting-type move.
Sableye is known for having both a ruby and a sapphire on its body. Its shiny form appears to have an emerald on the chest. It most likely has a connection to the three games of the generation it debuted in.
Sableye's name is a combination of sable and eye; it may also be a play on the word able-eyed. Its Japanese name may be a combination of 闇 yami, darkness, and 藪睨み yabunirami, a squint.
