Refrigerate (Japanese: フリーズスキン Freeze Skin) is an Ability introduced in Generation VI. Prior to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, it was the signature Ability of Amaura and Aurorus.

Effect

In battle

Generation VI

Refrigerate causes all Normal-type moves used by the Pokémon to become Ice-type and receive a 30% power boost. It overrides Ion Deluge and Electrify.

Generation VII

Affected moves now receive a 20% power boost. If Max Strike is selected with Refrigerate, it'll turn into Max Hailstorm when used.

Outside of battle

Refrigerate has no effect outside of battle.
