From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
I began my page with a bunch of usertags. As if I wasn't enough of a nerd already.
I'd like to address a few things indicated in my tags: Yes, I am eighteen. Yes, that is too old for Pokémon (at least, in my opinion). At any rate, my brother's the real Pokémaniac. I usually just play the games to help him (by trading him version-exclusive Pokémon, like from Sapphire, or rare ones, like Manaphy from Ranger), as well as Silver for the nostalgia value. I liked Pokémon back then.
I don't like to use legendary, glitch, or cheat-obtained Pokémon because it's just not realistic. I like to think of it as if we were all actual trainers stumbling around the Pokémon world. It just wouldn't make sense for every trainer you run across to be packing an Arceus when there's only one in existence, and nobody would have ever even heard of MissingNo. Of course, this is another thing where everyone has their own opinion, and I have to respect that.
Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions were the pinnacle of the series, as far as I'm concerned. Sure, the RPG elements were boosted in later generations by natures, abilities, the split between special and physical moves, and the like. But as far as storytelling, characters, and actual fun go, GS has all other generations topped. I'm holding out for a GS remake before I get back into the series.
So if I don't like Pokémon that much, why do I have a Bulbapedia account? Mostly because I can't make any edits without it. This wiki is one of the best-maintained I've ever seen, but it still needs some help, and I'm here to provide it wherever I can.
