Servine (Japanese: ジャノビー Janovy) is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.
It evolves from Snivy starting at level 17 and evolves into Serperior starting at level 36.
Biology
Servine is a slim bipedal Pokémon that is primarily green with a cream underside, and narrow red eyes. It has a yellow V-shaped structure that starts at the chest and extends behind the shoulders. Servine has short limbs and a small crest protruding from the back of its head. Three palmate leaves grow along its back and tail. These leaves are capable of performing photosynthesis, but only while they are clean. Servine will go to great lengths to stay dirt-free for this reason. This swift Pokémon hides in thick foliage or shadows to avoid attacks before retaliating.

Trivia
Origin
Servine is based on a snake,[1] perhaps specifically the vine snake, tree snake, or green snake. Like its pre-evolution Snivy, Servine may have been designed with arms and legs to make it appear non-threatening, so as to not put off players. Ken Sugimori stated that the evolutionary line is meant to gradually become more snake-like as the Pokémon evolves.[1] Some of Servine's features may have also been based on legless lizards, Asian grass lizards, or skinks, especially those with serpentine aspects such as Brachymeles, Chamaesaura, and Ablepharus. The shape of Servine's head, body, and crest may be based on the bird of paradise or false bird of paradise flowers.
Ken Sugimori has also said that Snivy, Servine, and Serperior are based on Western culture, specifically mentioning the manga series The Rose of Versailles as an inspiration.[1] Additionally, Servine's physical features resemble the acanthus leaf motifs popularized during the Renaissance. Servine, Pignite, and Dewott's evolutionary lines are collectively based on Western, Chinese, and Japanese culture respectively, to represent the diversity of the Unova region.[1]
Name origin
Servine may be a combination of serpent and vine.
Janovy may be a combination of 蛇 ja (snake) and canopy or ivy.
